In another X highlight, we once again find Zeta|Momochi pulled off some impressive moves with his masterful Ed.
Well known for the Dream Combo which Momochi popularized early on with the character, today’s clip shows how Momochi manages to turn an absolutely devastatingly bad situation into a victory by landing a Dream Combo for full corner carry… and then setting himself up to land another one to bring his opponent back to the other corner.
This highlight starts off with Momochi’s opponent N-ZAP85 finishing a combo which leaves the former Evo champion backed up against the corner with such low life that any kind of hit would finish him off instantly.
Momochi patiently stares his opponent down before pulling them in with a Psycho Snatcher, after which a low connects.
This low starts the sequence which eventually leads to Momochi’s victory, but I’ll let you watch it on your own just to see how Momochi manages to systematically dismantle an opponent who is so far ahead.

It’s not too uncommon to see “two-touch comebacks” from panicked situations, but this one actually required several judgment calls on Momochi’s ends, all of which he pulled off correctly.
From the button choices to the forced burnout all the way to the very risky Drive Impact (given his HP, if the opponent had been more bold they could’ve finished Momochi right then and there.)
The highlight just goes to show that even when all the chips are against you, unless you’re in an actual checkmate scenario, there’s always a route to victory.
