I recall Linus talking about how he wanted to do more down to earth videos, that people don’t need the latest n’ greatest- that it’s wasteful to go this crazy. Then after that LTT did nothing but videos about the latest and greatest while being critical of mid to low-tier gear.
It was probably 6 years ago at this point but they were going crazy with expensive builds and that’s about when I tapped out from his vids. I’d get a vid recommendation from YT every so often and it was more high end stuff.

Randomgaminghd is a goated dude. I just love his low budget focus and simple style that focuses entirely on used hardware

Always enjoy his videos and seeing someone keep the PC content budget and fresh is what we need more of.

What happened to Linus? I used to watch him like 15 years ago where he did hardware like gpu, motherboard reviews. It was informative and helpful. But last few years, all he made were bullshit.

A friend of mine actually found a 32″ 165 hz 1 ms latency monitor on the street. And he gave it to me because he didn’t need one. Best monitor I ever owned.

With technology it is extremely true you can do more with less.
Or you can do a fuckton with whatever a steam deck refurb/used pc goes for.
It is only when you chase the top 5% of performance that you spend thousands.
Heck an android phone a gen behind and a $20 8bitdo controller is a pretty goated emulation station if you are looking to liven up your lunch breaks. (Just don’t try to run the PS3 or Cemu android emulators yet. Stick to like PS2/GC&Wii/DC era and you will have a blast)

LTT needs to make content about stuff I can afford. I skip so many of their videos bcoz they are reviewing something that costs thousands of dollars and there is no point in my watching that content.
