Virtua Fighter is attempting to revamp itself for the modern fighting game landscape, and their current title has been receiving enhancements on the regular.
Sega released the Version 1.05 update for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. today along with the official patch notes for what’s been added to the game.
Last month’s VF5 update finally brought in a helpful Replay Mode that allows players to view and take control of a replay at any point, and the new one is building off of that some more.
Now, users can view and download other players’ replay data as well as offer the ability to hide player names online along with more bug fixes.
There’s no word yet on what Sega is cooking up for future updates, but we have a good chance to learn more about that and perhaps the new Virtua Fighter project next month at Evo 2025.
We’re still waiting on that release date for the console version of Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. too.
You can check out the Version 1.05 patch notes for Virtua Fighter 5 below though note at this time that they are only available in Japanese, so these have been translated by Google and may have some awkward phrasing.
Support for the “Online” tab in Replay Mode
In the “Online” tab you can view and download other players’ ranked matches.
• A maximum of 10 items will be extracted from the most recent ranking data.
* Depending on the timing, your own replay may be featured.
• You will also be able to view and download other players’ replays from the following locations:
Player Data > Battle Log
Replay playing on main menu
* Replay downloads from the battle log are available for battle data from Ver. 1.05 onwards.
