As a gamedev here is why not everyone goes into gambling:
1. Audience, a lot of companies make games catered to not just adults
2. Legality, you never know when governments will shut it down
3. Public perception, gambling is not a good look and bad PR
4. Morals, believe it or not, some people have at least average moral values in companies, especially smaller companies
absolutely fuming how I used to sell those older cases for $0.03 ea

Nadeshot got a lot of attention because he dropped over $50k opening cases and opened over 3,000 cases before he got his first gold. that was key to the marketing imo

Maybe valve not being a publicly traded company makes them albe to have a skins economy and gambling, whereas for other companies this could be considered a risk for shareholders

Valve has setup the best monetisation system in history and are printing billions because of it. Why has nobody replicated it? It must have something to do with them actually owning steam the entire marketplace whereas most other games have to go through them or microsoft/sony
