I was never really into comics or a Spiderman fan, but I saw he was able to pickup a car, I didn’t know he was that strong, definitely liked him more since this game.
But Spiderman 2 on PS2 is best imo. Just jumping around the city was fun alone.
I don’t know. It’s a great game! But Spider-Man 1 and 2 for PS5 is pretty good but yeah, the original Spider-Man for PS1 is definitely a great game I don’t know if it’s the best. It definitely was for a long time

That janky web slinging animation is dear to me and it’s what I enjoyed most about the newer versions – the free exploration over the New York skyline is so freeing.

The Dreamcast version of this was better, IMO.
But it’s Spider-Man 2 from 2004 that holds a special place for me. The web-swinging in that game was so satisfying, and they smartly leaned into it with all sorts of side missions and races. Good times. 😀

Played the hell outta the demo disk for this game. Swinging around above poison gas New York for hours on end. I remember the Mysterio boss fight and Spider Man punching his helmet open and getting mad. Good times.

Insomniacs Spiderman 1 is probably the best one. It captured the best aspects of pretty much everything Spiderman related.
Spiderman 2 (the movie game) was absolutely the best until perhaps Ultimate Spiderman.
After that they were all pretty mixed.
But the original Spiderman PS1 game is absolutely up there as one of the best I agree.

Weird and sad how when I played this game over and over as a kid it felt like in my head the equivalent of the modern day spiderman games we get now… When it wasn’t even close.
I wish I could get some of that fantasy and dreaming back.
