I can’t be the only one who does this

For me it’s the Desktop folder I brilliantly named “New folder”, not to be confused with “New folder (2)”, which is for a *completely different* assemblage of miscellaneous stuff

The opposite italics in this meme really piss me off for some reason.

Ever since I started doing Wabbajack modlists I’ve moved to using just C directly and honestly it’s not bad! Downloads/Desktop/Documents are just right there if I need them!

  4. Once you start adulting, you need to get your shit in order, so using the documents folder to keep all you important boring paperwork is a thing, my downloads folder is mostly zip files for game mods, memes, etc…

I just have a bunch of folders on my desktop called “New Folder”, “stuff”, “other” and “yup”.

It’s a perfect system and if I move a single thing out of place, my life is ruined.

Did I put *file* in “jdlspdhjs” or “asfghjl”?

I remember back in the 2000’s before windows had a dedicated downloads folder people would use their “My Documents” folder as their Kazaa download folder. Only problem was that Kazaa automatically shared out the contents of whatever folder you used for your downloads so tons of personal and confidential documents would show up in your search results if you filterd for .pdf .doc .xls etc… good times.

  9. Documents folder is useless thanks to the game developers who just put save games and config files there. FFS, since Vista there’s a dedicated save games folder, just use that one.

I never keep anything important in either of those. It’s a habit from before OneDrive sync times, it’s easier to reinstall Windows when you don’t have anything you want to keep on disk C:.

I have specific folders for specific pages.

    Then there’s :E

Put it into the neatly hidden app data folder and name it something random

For anyone that doesn’t already know you can change the destination of your downloads folder so it doesn’t all save on you C:

This is useful if you have windows installed on a small SSD where the downloads folder defaults to the windows installation.

  14. Ofc Downloads folder group by date modified *chef’s kiss*

My Documents folder is 99 percent made of game saves. Instead I have a folder named Bobo2 on desktop for files that require fast access since I have both SSD and HDD, and one called Bobo on HDD which I have almost 5 years of my archive.

Having storage that goes back 20+ years (and that I have not really maintained) has become a nightmare. I have so many documents folders within documents folders within different drives, within old backups, all scattered around like the Titanic wreck.

For me, Downloads is a TO SORT folder, unless you have sandboxing when it can also work as a transfer hub.

  18. I use Free Download Manager and he sorts the downloads by file type.

I just save stuff to the desktop and then move it where I want it to go

  21. model_commenter

My downloads folder is where my pre sharepoint files live.

The best thing about Top Gear to me was their seemingly genuine appreciation for normal cars.

Reverse for me unless it’s something like an executable or a mod.
