I did a redneck engineering mod on my 2080ti. Installed 2 140mm high flow fans and it dropped my temps from 85C to 60C under full OC. And it’s much more quiet too. Looks dumb as hell though but I don’t mind. It probably works better then before for him.

Case fans are actually better than the stock fans.

I was running a similar setup on a fan less vga adapter that kept overheating in Gmod so I put a wood screw through the heatsink.

A gpu cooler works exactly this way, with some cover plastic

It’d work better if he took the shroud off, but I’ve done that before. More than once. Even improving temperatures in some cases, not that it matters to anything.

I mean, if it keeps the temps in line, it works.
If it works its not stupid I guess
But it makes me cry
I have the same thing going with my rx580, the fan has been in use for like 2 years lol.
If it works, it works.
I think he should remove the plastic body and the old fan so the new custom fan is closer to the aluminum heatsink
If it works and temps are great then no problem
I used a some junky power supply fan for intake least 3 months until i buy a 3x fan set
good work
