








Hello everyone! I decided to overclock my CPU (Core U7 265K) with also an undervolt.
Originally, my CPU core thermals went to above 90 degrees when I first built my computer. I was pretty motivated to undervolt it which was pretty easy. Temps dropped almost 20° where most cores averaged at 75°. You can see that in the 7th image. I applied an undervolt of 0.050.
Then I decided to overclock my CPU because my undervolt lowered my Single Thread Performance mark on Passmark benchmark by -1000.
I had to enable the "MSI unlimited settings" to overclock. After my overclock, where I managed to get the CPU to run at 5400MHz (P-cores) and also a slight overclock for the E cores and Ring. (I don't know what Ring is but I heard I should overclock it so I OC'ed to 40 while default was 39. 41 made my PC crash on Cinebench)
But now my CPU cores are going back to 90°+ (And 86 degree avg)(image 8) degrees which makes me a bit suspicious. Isn't the CPU supposed to run at its told speed without consuming more power? It almost feels like I did not apply the undervolt. It also consumes more wattage, before overclock with undervolt it consumed max ~225W and now it consumes ~235W+.
Is my CPU still undervolted? Am I running the CPU just overclocked and not undervolted? I was pretty proud of myself for undervolting and overclocking but it seems like it is just overclocked. But on the other hand if I apply an undervolt of 0.060 then my PC crashes in Cinebench so I really don't know what happening.
That's why came to you guys since I know you all are more experienced. This is my first PC and CPU tweaking so please don't make fun of my stupid questions I just want to be sure to not reduce the lifespan of my CPU.

Try undervolting to start it’s safer this way
Reset to default enable your ddr boost idk if it would be xmp with the newer cards set core clock to the base of your cpu enable core performance boost then go to your pbo set to advanced set a cpu current optimizer to negative 15 to start save and restart
More speed needs more power. More power = more heat.
Your undervolt is still there but its a negative curve offset undervolt. As clock speeds increase the voltage still follows the negative curve offset you set but higher clock speeds still need more voltage.
