One of the better NBA games when I was real young. A remake of this would be better than the 2K games. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐ŸŽฎ

Probably the greatest basketball game ever made.

I remember being a kid and not understanding why Jordan was absent from the game.

You bring the peanut butterโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll bring the JAM!

This was the first game I bought with my own money. I had this poster on my wall. Also, I’m old lol. I miss the hell outta arcade sports games. They pretty much don’t exist anymore, sadly.

This is one of the only games I genuinely remember playing and enjoying with my sister when I was 3-4 years old. Didnโ€™t know what was going on but we would take turns going to the opposite side of the court and shooting full court shots

Get on fire against me and I’m socking you out.

  12. Cheifloaded

And sadly this is still the funnest basketball game ever made

  13. I was literally playing this an hour ago what a classic

  14. Greed and licensing have probably ruined any chance of this coming back but I’d be on board with WNBA Jam! Honestly I just loved the game play and the teams were second to that. Time to ride the oncoming wave of women’s basketball and get them a game. Bring back simple arcade basketball and the WNBA would be perfect for this franchise return.

There was an Xbox 360 era remake for consoles and mobile – a very good remake…2010(Ish?)

How have we not gotten a new NBA Jam. Or Street. Or some version of Hitz and Blitz. Man, I miss good arcade sports games.

  18. I remember first learning the double ally….pass to a teamate in the air then jump….then pass back to yourself for a double ally oop….peak of my gaming career

  19. From an interview with the creator:

    >In 2008, Mark Turmell spoke publicly about the game’s coding specifics, admitting that he made sure to stack the odds against the Bulls given that he was a huge Pistons fan. He made it so that in a close game between the Bulls and the Pistons, any last-second shot the Bulls attempted would miss badly.

I loved Barkley Shut Up and Jam! both were solid games

  21. I still play the On Fire Edition! On my PS3. “Dear Rim. I miss you.” “HE FARTS AND FIRES!!…uh..that was me again… sorry”

I would always get so mad when Iโ€™d hear โ€œheโ€™s heating upโ€ and then Iโ€™d accidentally score with the other guy.

My best friends held Guinness book records for this game. Lots of great memories.

Finding the big head switch in this was fantastic. It was already the best basketball game around, but that took it to a new level.ย

  28. When I was a kid in the 90s, I never had consoles. My buddy had a Genesis, and NBA Jam was the first console game I ever played.

  29. dabestgoat
