Just bought my first pre built PC and I will only turn on for a second before turning off? I’ve watched a few videos and it’s not the Ram sticks, or my outlet, or any other obvious loose wires. Any ideas?

Hello Damsel_in_Dampness, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!
To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!
Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

Do you mean literally a second or will it last 30 seconds/a few minutes? It could be that they forgot to paste the CPU or remove the film from the cooler and it’s overheating and shutting down.
We might need a bit more information though. Does anything light up before it shuts down? Do you get a picture on your screen?

If its turning on for a second then turning back of right away that means a component in the PC isnt getting enough power or its faulty I would start by checking to make sure all the cables going to your motherboard are seated correctly like the 4 pin for the cpu power and the 24 pin for the main connected and check the gpu power connecter. If all of those check out and are fully plugged in check the power supply
