It’s actually weird, my pc does this when I switch the ram profile to 3200MHz (max), I save changes and reboot, then it tries to boot three times, screen stays black and three clicks later it goes back to BIOS.
3000MHz works fine, hasn’t crashed once in years.

Fortunately my board has a flashback button, so even if this happens I’m not S.O.L. just yet. Luckily I’ve only had to use the flashback button once, power went out in the middle of the night and corrupted the bios, the board would post and get into bios, but it wouldn’t display right and the BIOS update option wouldn’t work, so I had to use the flashback button to repair the bios. I still don’t know how the bios got corrupted as I definitely didn’t start a bios update.

never once happened to me in 30 years of messing with PCs
usb bios flash is the best feature. saved my butt.
After a lifetime of managing not to turn off a PC during the update I threw a critical fail and accidentally palmed a giant thermaltake power switch while trying to observe a fan that sounded like it was eating a cable.

The most scary thing for a PC owner is updating BIOS and then something going unplanned.

I remember this happening to me 20 years ago. I had to wait a month or two for the manufacturer to send me a new bios chip.

Good thing I have BIOS flashback… Always look for that feature when buying a motherboard.
