Killswitch was a 3D third person shooter on GBA, fun once you got used to the controls

I remember V-Rally 3 looking incredible when actually played in person. I think it was the best looking fake 3D game on the GBA by far
WanderingAlchemist
Man Ecks and Sever what a throwback. Also I would throw Racing Gears Advance up there. Not as impressive as running those 3D games on GBA, but it was silky smooth whilst looking amazing

Driver was such an entertaining game.

Golden sun and Aria of sorrow for me

Ecks V Sever was awesome ngl

Vast majority of the consoles that I’ve owned ended up getting modded. With GBA SP I played the pokemon that it came with and gave all of it away because there wasn’t any other games worth playing so getting a mod cart wasn’t worth it.

Did this driver make us do the whole stunt list in parking too?

I always think back to the Tony Hawk games since they actually used a large portion of the Playstation code to make them. Those played so smoothly

Superstar saga and sonic advance looked great.

I hate people who just post a picture and a title and then never respond.

The screenshot they’ve picked for Ecks Vs Sever is actually from Ecks Vs Sever 2

No Tony hawk?

Got a GBA for my bday.
Found it hidden in my mum’s cupboard, opened it so excited, played it, repacked it, put it back. Opened it a few days later.

Until you see them in movement. All these screenshots seem to use the same 3d projection algorithm to make fake 3d rendering at the time, and camera movement, polygon clipping, framerate, it was all awful. Good 2D art was for sure much better for GBA games.

Max Payne was pretty awesome.
Lorddon1234
The most impressive one is Alone in the Dark on the GBC. Also, this list is missing Tekken and Crash
Dr-Mantis-Tobias
The cutscenes in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories blew me away
Kibroman
Now let’s see those frame rates.

no FFVI? It was absolutely stunning on GBA

La evolución de todo en los videojuegos

Still better than Switch 2
LoKiZoR
Breath of Fire 3(nvm this one was psp), Advance wars, Pokemon emerald, legacy of goku 1,2,3 were my all time favorites

i nvr got the chance to buy a GBA. do you think the emulator is legal in EU?

Street Fighter Alpha 3 runs incredibly for a 16 bit handheld port.
General-Sloth
The fact that I was able to play Driver 3 on my GBA still blows my mind.
brigthebrain
Impressive or competent? I’d say competent, given that most of those tried to make psuedo-3D effects and did it well enough to see what’s going on.

Where’s Doom 1 and 2?
