Max GPU length was 310mm and I thought I was getting a 299mm card, it turned out to be more than 330mm, so…now my case max GPU length is above 340mm and can be tweaked further.

Not my fault BTW, it's a PNY 5070ti OC and the specs in PNY's web page say 299mm

Well, its not a fancy job… but it is a functional job. Just BE SURE to sand the cut part so it doesnt drop tiny metal dust on the gpu, as thats… well.. metal and metal is hyper conductive

spent premium on GPU might as well get new case with enough space 5070ti won’t be near the front fans or wall.

Get a dremel and clean this up, otherwise it’s a good functional mod.

How old is that case anyways? It’s got way too many HDD mounts. It’s time for a new case to house that new GPU.

It’s not perfect, but it fits and works.

Check out Fractal Design cases, they’re incredibly user friendly and have some of the slickest cases out there.

You do know that it was easier to remove the rivets with a metal drill 👌🏻

  7. RealBerfs1

I mean you could have also just punched out the rivets and took the drive cage out entirely lmao

A little finesse and force will do the rest

I remember having to take a dremel to my case due to the hdd cages. After a lot of metal specks, the GPU barely fit.

*Case modding, at its finest, looks nothing like this.
There, fixed your title for you. /s

Hey, congratulations on getting it to work though!

I remember considering doing something similar to my CoolerMaster CM Storm Scout to try and fit in a Radeon HD 6970 to replace my HD 5850 (which I bought because I knew I wouldn’t fit an HD 5870). I ended up buying a different case in the end (while my HD 6970 sat in its box for a few months while I waited for the case I wanted to be imported).

If the then me knew how long, wide and thick graphics cards would become…

Now for some anti sag, unless there’s some bent metal holding it up already, can’t tell

You can get a cheap dremel for like 30 bucks.

I’ve never done something like that before…
