Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to r/Gaming, but any British citizen will tell you that this means nothing. Not a single thing. Itll be “debated” by having 4 MPs show up, read one line, and itll never get mentioned again.

    This means nothing.

  2. Succeeded in what? Getting lots of signatures? Let me know when they do something about it.

  3. ThePokemonRayquaza

Don’t stop there, keep getting them signed the more the merrier!

Parliament in the UK is full of useless outdated subhuman wankers so I wouldn’t hold my breath expecting anything to come of this.

As somebody who has been following SKG since the start I look forward to the third round of hearing that the UK government just can’t be bothered to do anything.

These apathetic comments are obnoxious and pathetic.

Succeeded? Means nothing. Means it gets mentioned in the HoC. Nothing more.

Really hope this doesn’t pass – would be extremely bad for UK Gamers.

Its not there yet, probably should have 20% over to reach its goal

  10. This just means they have to debate it. They will ask if we’re all happy letting them do what they want and the ones who actually turned up to vote will let them do what they want.

  11. No petition to the UK Parliament has ever passed.

In fact none have ever had longer on the floor than it takes to read out there name.

    None.

I’m not sure I understand the purpose here. Is the idea to force companies to keep online servers up? While I agree with the sentiment, I don’t think it’s really practical. Should a company be paying at a loss to keep games running with a tiny user base?

Now write an email to your MP stressing the value of this petition being discussed and heard by representatives of the people.

You can’t just one-click sign a petition to be heard in a democracy, unfortunately.

  14. So you are telling me… Star Wars Galaxies will be forced back into commission by Sony? Yea, i dont think this is going to work. They already told you in the eula that you dont own it. You are only licensed usage of it.
