I can confirm same story with my chair
I have a leather office chair that has been in use for about 30 years. The leather is basically perfect, and the seat is still comfortable.

Planned obsolescence is gonna slam the office chair market if people keep showing off how tough their chairs are. I got one too, but if you keep hyping the durability, the companies might start making them cheaper on purpose.

I have the basic Staples branded ergo chair and it comes with a 12 year warranty where they’ll replace parts of/the whole chair no questions asked if you report damage
Same chair user here. And the “fabric” seems absolutely indestructible considering that my cat is scratching it with full force for several years now, not a single whole or loose thread.

Check up on used office chairs. Some companies give them away dirt cheap because new ones have been bought or becausee they need to make space.

Always go for the good office chair. If you can afford ofc. But basically everything below 180€ only holds for max 2 years.
