A trailer for the new The Running Man movie

  1. Uh, what is this? I had to double check it was real. I appreciate ‘fresh’ takes, but this looks like low budget drivel compared to the original.

  2. A modern remake of an Arnold Schwartzenegger classic. Okayyyyyy.

Looks like a more faithful adaptation than first film but that doesn’t make it good based on that merit alone.

Seems like it’ll either be a good one time watch or something you forget about as soon as the end credits start rolling. I have a feeling it’ll be better than expected but it won’t be a breakout hit but it might do well when it comes to streaming.

That “cool resistance” attitude seems awfully forced. And the modern adaption of Total Recall was already boring shit.

Big fan of the original Stephen King book, and I love Edgar Wright’s movies. This could be interesting.

Why is it lit like a rom com? Would it kill them to have a higher contrast ratio?

I’m curiously unmoved by this trailer, as it feels like a comedic version of the Robocop remake. No tension, lots of slick action, and blunt social commentary that wants to look into the lens and announce “well that just happened.” However, the trailer for Last Night In Soho was nothing like the film, so I’m tentatively optimistic that the final film could be better than the hype.
