and yet they only release 1 new map and 1 map rework every year isntead of hiring people to make maps or at least make random varients of the already existing maps with room shuffling

Is there any incentive for them to ever end early access and fully release the game?

  3. Absolutely deserved. The game nails atmosphere which elicits incredible reactions from players.

I watched some streams of this game and thought people were just hamming it up for the camera. Having played it with multiple friend groups now… definitely not just an act.

Congrats to the devs, you earned it!

And yet I struggle to find a single person to play with among my long time gaming friends or the discords I am in where I find the community comfortable. Popular game is still too niche I guess =(

Eh, going the paranormal route for a horror game is too lazy. Feels just as lazy and fake as those dumb nighttime tv ghost hunter reality shows.

The game was great when it was first released, I spent dozens of hours in it with a couple of buddies. Then the dev hired a couple people, changed the ui, redesigned some in game tools and it became pretty underwhelming.

  7. Out of all variety games I’ve played, this one has had the most sticking power for me. There’s enough consistency in ghost behavior that you can use their behaviors to identify the ghost, but they’ve also made enough changes to make the ghost always a threat (until its a deogen and you realize it). The new update has made a perfect investigation way more thrilling (no more taking a picture of 6 disturbed salt piles). I really appreciate them adjusting content for better replayability over leaving it as is and just throwing more content that would wind up playing the same in a different location.

  8. My friend group loved this game until they decided to reset everyone and make us re earn everything we had.

We tried again recently and its just not like it used to be. Maybe we are missing something but basically nothing happens (no ghost events, nothing scary, little to no evidence) until the ghost hunts.

And then its just hunts instead of anything else. Genuinely don’t know if we are doing something wrong or not but this game feels like a shell of its former self. (If im wrong here please school me lol)

This game in VR is the scariest thing out there. We brought it to a Halloween party a few years back and watching people lose their shit was incredible.

Met a friend of the sole developer of this game recently and they said he basically disappeared into his parents’ basement for years to make this, was rarely seen and basically went dark and then dropped an absolute banger.
