And i thought people said they werent going to buy

  2. Blubbpaule

But reddit told me the console would flop!!

No surprise. Anyone who boycotts nintendo expecting any dent or reaction in their sales is delusional.

  3. jerrrrremy

But the internet told me it was too expensive. Are you saying everyone was wrong?

    Regional breakdown:
    USA: 1.8 mil
    Japan: 1.47 mil
    EU: 1.18 mil

The Switch 2 sold 3 million units in its first four days.

The Steamdeck sold 4 million units in 4 years

I hope the train keeps on rolling. The new DK could be the Switch 2’s Odyssey or better and hopefully that will put more consoles in people’s hands.

Imagine making enough of something that most people can just go buy one.

  7. luffy_mib

Sony is definitely looking at this and price their PS6 at $1000, because people are going to buy it anyway.

I’ve got to say that this console is what I had always wanted the first switch to be. Not having to worry about low performance is really a game changer for my play style. I’m playing tears of the kingdom for the first time ever and it’s at 60 frames per second. I can’t imagine playing this game at 30.

  9. Turns out when you have a product people want AND you actually make enough units for people to buy, you can break sales records. whoda thunkit

  10. jasmansky

They don’t care about the screen quality that techtubers take great issue with. The target market doesn’t really care about that stuff. They just want to play nintendo games.

  11. BigTonyT30

Reddit once again proves it is just an echo chamber

  12. Rarewear_fan

BREAKING NEWS: Sony reveals an additional 3 million PS4s sold at launch were not discovered until now.

Yet it’s still utterly impossible for me to get my hands on one in Japan.

Damn it, Nintendo, just check our ID to make sure we’re citizens/residents so the scalpers can’t have them. Don’t do these lotteries.

  14. GovernmentGhoul

But but but it doesn’t have games but but but Welcome Tour should be free but but but game-key cards but but but it has a slow screen but but but but it gets scratched if you drop it but but but but but but

  15. That’s cool. I wish the games were more reasonably priced otherwise I’d likely buy one too but I guess I’m not the target audience if they’re doing this well.

  16. TheGreatGamer1389

Curious though has it beaten PS2 in total sales yet for Switch 1? If and when it does it will be both the best selling console and handheld of all time.

  17. Don’t worry Reddit. The Steam Deck will overtake Nintendo any day now.

  18. So funny no matter how many times you correct people about some misinformation that they have. No one says. I was wrong… my bad

Never seen such a hate train on any console, except maybe Xbox 1

  19. Oh boy time for another r/gaming meltdown. What’ll it be this thread? Misreading a EULA? Complaining about prices while getting the prices wrong and getting upset when others say they actually paid $50? Maybe ignore first party games are still physical while ignoring the AAA issue of download discs because it doesn’t fit the narrative?

Come on r/gaming. Let’s repeat the same debunked narratives like you always have. Maybe this time you’ll actually be relevant!

Nintendo consoles are pretty much the only console directly marketed to children.

It’s the same thing when you see a YouTube channel that gets 50M views a video and you think “How does this slop even get 100 views much less 50M?”

The answer? Children. They’re the invisible market segment to most people.

Nintendo also has a massive market segment that aren’t categorized as “gamers”. As in, they ONLY buy Nintendo stuff.

Like think about how trash Pokémon has been for a decade, but people still buy it. It’s the COD or Madden of the non-gamer gamers.

Oh and also females. Nintendo has a huge female market segment in comparison to other consoles.

  21. The issues Reddit is vocal about the Switch 2 don’t affect the 99% base

Game key cards? Nintendo first-party remains fully physical.

$80 MKW? Most people are buying the bundle where it costs $50

Bricking TOS? Industry-wide TOS and does not affect how 99% use their Switch

Slow screen? Given that it took 3 weeks to be discovered means the general public can’t tell a difference.

  22. hejwbdbeiwbbdiwakwkz

As a pc user the switch is the only console I’m interested in due to first party exclusives. I’ll probably buy it down the road. Every other consoles have pc releases so no point in getting them.

  23. HawksBurst

Dont worry, sony will inmediatelly find a random check for 2 million ps4 on its first week. Also 10 more ps2 just in case

  24. MoonoftheStar

Don’t worry guys. Post more memes and Steam Deck suggestions. You’ll get em eventually.

  25. OldmanJenkins02

lol I thought there was a protest to not buy these?

  26. Trash sells a lot. Fifa, cod, etc. It’s naive to think that this console would have flopped. Especially since Nintendo fans are notorious for eating every shit Shitendo throw at them

  27. And I dont get why … nolalgia over quality is nintendos lucky selling point

  28. One-Psychology-8394

Imagine raising the price of everything after 7 years with the first switch

  29. NoLimitsHoeXO

Can’t really help it, Disney and Nintendo both has our childhood by the balls.

  30. Just reinforces that Reddit is not a good sample size for the general public. Reading reddit youd think that the switch 2 is the most useless console out there. No titles, bad screen, no reason to buy one when you got switch 1… might still all be true, but the general public is just not giving a fuck
