I don’t see any problem here. If you don’t have the money for a 1440p/2160p monitor, why bother?

Advancements for gpus have stagnated anyway.

My little brother has a 5700XT (he’s 8), and the games he plays like The last of us run beautifully at 1080p 60FPS high with FSR.

    Not everyone needs it.

  3. samiamyammy

telling people what they need when they didn’t ask and are clearly already content? Just let people enjoy, when they install a game that runs poorly enough for them to notice, they will naturally come to terms with needing an upgrade.

  4. rkraptor70

    *Laughs at 1080*.

I’m a 1080p gamer and going to stay that way as long as possible.

  5. Traditional-Storm-62

    computational power doesnt sell GPUs
    neither does price/performance ratio

    games sell GPUs

if there was a game I wanted to play that 1070 couldnt run, then I would want to buy a better card

  6. LeviMarx

Reminds me of some redditor who claimed ‘you’re not a real PC gamer if you don’t build a new rig every year’ – flaunting their wealth basically and gatekeeping. Typical Child behavior.

  7. asecondnox

    I have a 3070 with a 1440p monitor and it’s fine.

  8. TheHorizon42

My 3090 is STILL in the top 10 strongest cards in the world, I’ll retire it probably for the 6000 series as I’ve a feeling it will be an enormous boost over 4000/5000 series

  9. Pirated-Hentai

literally every 1080ti post “ray tracing, DLS-” ” I DONT FUCKING CARE ABOUT ANY OF THAT”

  10. fauxdragoon

If I didn’t get my 2060 Super for free I’d still be using my 1050 Ti that EVGA sent me after my GTX 580 died (man that lifetime warranty was nice).

  11. Careless_Car_3525

Y’all talking about 3060, 3070, 5700xt and here is me playing games in my intregated graphis 🥲

  12. philipde

rtx 3060. Cranking it to do 1440p. High and some medium settings with dlss and frame gen And I always manage 60fps at least

  13. Snagmesomeweaves

5800x3D and 3080 get me the over 240 fps on CS2 for my 1440p 240hz display. I’m good holding off until we don’t have to pay for daycare anymore

  14. AI_IS_SENTIENT

I have a 3070 it ram games maxed out on 1080p over 100 fps no problem I was happy

Them I got a 1440p 144hz monitor it feels amazing first time experiencing it obviously its cut my fps down like 20 or 30 fps depending on the game

    But I still enjoy it

My point is If you enjoy your current setup don’t feel the need to change it because comparison it the theif of joy

    My precious GTX960:

Reminds me of that chart with multiple graphics cards that said “the time to get a new GPU is when your current one can’t run the games you want it to”.

Personal graphics preferences also matter. You don’t need a RTX 5080 for pretty much anything if you like playing on 1080p at 60 fps, for example.

  17. Dopa-Down_Syndrome

I’m playing expedition 33 at 4k high on my 3090ti so yeah I’d say I am enjoying it

  18. BotaniFolf

Wow its almost like a gpu that’s good enough doesnt need to be replaced. Careful saying that around pcnr though, people here love consumerism

  19. builder397

Im happily sitting on an RX6600, and as long as AMD and Nvidia are dragging their heels with 8GB xx60 cards itll keep being able to play anything I might want to play, just like my old quad-core 3Ghz Athlon remained viable for close to ten years because nothing with more than four cores came out until Ryzen.

  20. FitRow6480

Bruh I’m still on my 1060 6gb from almost 10 years ago

  21. CockroachCommon2077

If you can play what you want at whatever framerate you want. Then why upgrade. People tend to think if it’s not the top of the line or from last gen then it’s not worth it.

  22. Ponczo123

I’m still pissed that I didn’t get 1060 with better VRAM because most games I wanted to play and was released in recent years had 1060 in minimum requirements but it was always version with 6gb and I had 3gb so every game that I tried crashed and I needed to spend money on new card last year. That’s why I bought radeon instead of invidia this time because of higher VRAM hope my 7080xt will last as long or longer than 1060 that I bought in 2017

  23. xX_Thr0wnshade_Xx

I still don’t get the whole ‘8 gb vram is bad’ thing. For new GPUs it makes sense, especially if you want to keep it long term. But if you already have an 8 gb GPU or less even, you’re fine. I can still play modern games at 50-60 fps with my 5600 xt and a bit of upscaling. For me, the story and gameplay matter more than the graphics, and I feel that the whole thing about having high graphics settings all the time and nitpicking on graphics details is just a marketing ploy to upsell you. As much as some people want to disagree, most are fine with using frame gen, upscaling, and lowering setting in games, as they just want to have a good time playing.

  24. Chanclet0

Yeah and who’s gonna pay it, i’m not

  25. Strangeman_06

I use a GTX 1650 and does the job for me

  26. clone2197

meanwhile, anything that have less than 16gb vram and doesnt run all games at native 4k 120fps are shit according to redditors.

  27. MetroSimulator

Blud’s living in the future, already have the new GTA 980

  28. I would like to upgrade from my 3080ti I got second hand, but I’m not paying more than $800 for a GPU. So yeah, it’s going to work for a while longer.

  29. fieryfox654

    I’ve been using a GTX 1060 for 8 years and now I have a 6700XT

  30. CryptikTwo

Frame gen sucks balls and little else has been brought to the table, also I don’t feel like putting down double what my last card costs to get double the performance. That just doesn’t seem like progress.

  31. CyaRain

Man my 1650 runs everything i wanna play, im good bro

  32. JinxIsPerfect

hm i think im fine for 1-3 years with my 3080

  33. Sioscottecs23

Lol no problems for me, I’m not gonna upgrade if my games still run above 60 most of the time

  34. Feeling_Ad3857

    this sub when u dont spend 5k on a gpu : 😡
    this sub when u spend 5k on a gpu : 😡

  35. AethelBlackheart

op baiting hard both sides with this lmao

  36. Glass_Strain_2453

The 5060Ti is barely better than the 3070. 5 years later and we can’t even get better performance for the same money.

  37. Dillweed999

Do people actually do this or do you just feel like they’re doing this? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone talk shit over someone not wanting drop a couple grand on a GPU. I do see people say all the time that they won’t buy the new cards cause they’re overpriced or crap
