Hi all. The guy at the shop said the 4070 was compatible with my power supply and motherboard. But I’m hesitant to plug both 8-pin PCIE connectors that are daisy chained into the 4070. I watched a YT vid where they said it was a really really bad idea and could fry everything. There isn’t another spare pcie connector on the power supply. The power supply is 650W which is just enough I’m told.
Could I please get some opinions. Pretty please.

Hello GreystarTheWizard, and thank you for your submission to Gaming PC! If you are new please check out our rules over at the wiki [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/gamingpc/wiki/rules)!
We have recently added the useful feature of Title Flair! You can set this manually by clicking Flair under your post once you have submitted your post, but if you missed it in the rules there is a much better way that will automatically flair your post!

To do this simply add what your post is about in brackets before your title. For example for a Build Log you can type [Build Log] before your post so that it looks like this; [Build Log]My new awesome build!, and the bot will automatically set your flair to Build Log! This works for Build Log, Build Showcase, News, Hardware News, Hardware Release, Discussion, and Miscellaneous!

Also remember that this is a place for discussing and sharing our love of Gaming Computers! This is NOT the place for help building or determining what parts you should buy, that is better suited for /r/buildapc. Troubleshooting questions should be directed to /r/techsupport. Thank you again!

  2. 650W is barely enough to keep it stable under load. And running your PSU at max capacity may cause it to fail early. Looks like you got a cheap PSU as well. Never cheap out on the PSU as it can potentially damage your whole PC.

I recommend at least 750W (or 1000W for future proofing). Check the PSU tier list and get one that’s rated B tier or A tier.

  3. Look up the specs for PCIe 6+2 PIN it’s 300w max if I’m not mistaken.
