Upgraded to RTX 5070 and then realized I had Mirrors Edge on my backlog… Behold, the most overkill PhysX acceleration card ever (3060 12G)

Dual GPU machines just look cool.

  2. tailslol

    the return of physX accelerators!

    nice sleeper case too.

    i like old cm cases.

  3. GDog507

That PC case is amazing, like having an internal memory card reader, DVD drives, and a floppy disk drive, in addition to multiple hard drive bays? Hell yeah I love having options to do whatever, glass panels are boring if I can’t even load in a CD while importing my photos from my camera

  4. Kittysmashlol

Nah bro. You need a 4090 to do physx at a reasonable frame rate these days come on. Why are you giving up so much performance bro

    Cutting edge PC
    Early 2000s front IO

  6. Ninja_Weedle

Minus the power supply this is the setup of dreams…I got an old combo Compact Flash/Memory Stick/ SD card reader but its tucked away in my case’s HDD ports which on the H510 Flow (2022) means taking off the side panel.

PhysX and Duel GPU lossless scaling

  8. What a beaut! This will also work great for Lossless Scaling!

  9. Effective_Shower_627

Are you telling me I can use my 3070 Ultra FTW3 card for physx along with my 5080?

  10. IntradayGuy

Have 2 3060 12GB’s in my household when one gets removed from a system (1 is mine) its going under my Gigabyte Gaming oc 5070 TI (hopefully its the gigabyte winforce 3060 12GB so they match)

  11. GamingKink

Is it ok to connect two different GPUs?

  12. TheOnlyDeityy

I’m considering pushing my tx650m further with a gpu upgrade from my 3060ti but I think for peace of mind i might go with atx 3.0 first

  13. KajMak64Bit

Now you can use it as frame gen card aswell thanks to Lossless Scaling Multi GPU mode lol

  14. RudyTwastaken

how are you even running a 5070 and a 3060 at the same time on a 650 watt power supply?

thats like trying to run a tube light on a AAA battery

  15. TheRandomAI

Outside of physX you can also use rhe 3060 for fg via losslessframegen its an app on steam. Instead of the 5070 doing all the fg. Basically the 5070 will use its full power to run a game and the 3060 will be the one generating frames via like x2, x4 etc. It takes the load off the 5070.

  16. Tw33die84

Does that thing have any cooling at all?

  17. Jealous-Treat1784

max temps under load for the 5070? I have a 5070ti and im thinking of doing the same but with a 1080ti, only thing is im concerned about airflow to my main gpu

  18. Accomplished_Idea248

i bought a 1030 just for physx lmao
Can’t have Batman games without smoke & flying garbage

  19. GrimmPerfected

i’m about to pair a 2060 super with my 5070ti tonight so i can play batman with smoke effects. cheers mate

  20. Rabbit_cafe_enjoyer

    what’s about temperatures with/without 3060? it doesn’t look 5070 get enough air

  21. hypnohighzer

Duuude flob the gpu’s is that two fricken Nokia 3310 being use as supports?

  22. DreamArez

Plus now you can use it for Lossless Scaling lol

  23. Zyonix_HaroN

    it will be HOOT!

    Also, RIP to your PSU

  24. ZELLKRATOR

I have no plan, could somebody explain what a physx accelerator card does? I have read it just calculates specific physical things, so you have less work for the main card, but how big is the impact in games?

  25. solidfreshdope

    That’s why I got a 4080 instead of a 5070. lol

  26. kennyminigun

Does that floppy drive still work?

  27. yeeeew99

You should check out lossless scaling on dual GPU’s 👍
Google it, there’s a whole sub for it

  28. BananasAndSporks

Waiting for someone that upgraded from a 4090 to a 5090 using their old 4090 for physx.

  29. _Naiwa_

You can also offload frame generation to your 2nd gpu, time to look up lossless scaling, you won’t regret it

  30. accordinglyryan

Wow a 311 case. Haven’t seen one since I bought my own back in 2013 lol

  31. Friedrichs_Simp

I genuinely don’t get how no physx isn’t a deal breaker to ya’ll. I’d never upgrade to a 50 series especially because of this

  32. kahahimara

Laughing in 3080 TI being put on a shelf as a future PhysX card after purchasing 5090…

  33. MetroSimulator

Yeah, my 4090 from palit is the best, latest generation with PhysX and it’s BIOS limited to 450w, so no fire hazard 😍
