Always been there. There are even several base game “secrets” on/in it.

Yeah I didn’t trip over it until well into my 2nd playthrough, but yes it was there.

Been there since release.

Nope, it’s always been there. I think it makes sense that you never noticed it because I don’t think it comes up while navigating very often. Sorta similar to the highway that circles night city. The in-game navigation almost never has you use it, but there’s a circular highway loop and it’s really fun to just pop on and go in circles for a while to just take in the city.

I swear it was post PL cause I had this same reaction when looking at my map. I had to drive it just for fun cause I’d never seen it before.

This playthrough I’ve been enjoying just driving around NC, in slower cars finding my own way to missions and objectives. I’ve been finding so much that I’ve not seen before or not paid enough attention to. There was an entire power station platform thingy in South Watson between the two bridges south-east side that I’d never seen. Admittedly I didn’t so much drive there as… land. Happy accidents!

Rode through it for the first time a couple of nights ago after many hundreds of hours. Wondered the same thing

You kinda have to intentionally take it. Unless you are going to the very coastal side of City Centre, the game’s GPS makes you take the main bridge past the Arena to get between The Glen and Pacifica.
The game simply won’t recommend driving away the majority of the map just to take the tunnel at the very south end of Pacifica, and for good reason. If you look at the broader infrastructure, it is 100% a bypass tunnel from The Glen to Biotechnica Farms/Jackson Plains, not really intended for local traffic.

Never noticed but I like that they changed something about the GPS logic so now it takes us through there on certain pathing

Yes, it has always been there, but usually the GPS doesnt take you there.
Case in point btw, today the GPS took me down a street I have NEVER ONCE driven on in all my playtime. I didnt even know this road existed. legit never even seen it. And i have pretty much exactly 1000 hours in the game.
waaay2dumb2live
Definitely was. I remember my first time entering Pacifica through there.

Did it always been here?
That broke my brain haha!
But yes, it has always been there! The navigation rarely suggests it as a route though for some reason.
