Up until the last year or two, the tag-based fighting game subgenre was looking pretty sparse, but the space seems to be getting more crowded now.

MyFutprint Entertainment and Son Studios have now announced that Saturday AM: Battle Manga is entering the arena now too.

There’s not many details known about the project thus far, but they did reveal the fighting game will feature characters from across Saturday AM’s publishings including Apple Black, Clock Striker, Massively Multiplayer World of Ghosts and Soul Beat.

The companies also confirm Battle Manga will be a 2v2 tag-based fighting game with 2.5D visuals that aims to be “accessible but mechanically rich” with traditional motion inputs.

We don’t have a trailer for the game yet, but they did release a few screenshots of Saturday AM in its pre-alpha state.

Son Studios is also currently developing the upcoming arena fighter Netcode Warriors.

Alongside 2XKO, we now have Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact as well as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and Invincible VS coming up for tag-based fighters with the latter two getting revealed just this month.

“The tag fighter space is one I’ve loved since childhood and always dreamed of leading a project in,” said Son Studios CEO and game director Jesse Segun-Oside. “Kicking things off with these characters is the perfect way to bring that vision to life—with impact.”

No release date or planned systems were revealed, but you can check out the official overview of Saturday AM: Battle Manga below as well as the screenshots.
