It does it all the time – anything post 35 for me starts getting precarious. Absolute joke of a game really – solo should be offline exclusively.
Technically, it wasn’t a game breaking bug. You just lost connection to the game servers.
I don’t know if it was possible at this point, but you could try saving and quitting since it was solo

And this is why offline solo was such a good thing in the older games folks, because COD’s servers are fucking trash
