I was finally going to put my old R5 3600 to retirement with a 5700X3D. Guess who's going to get a refund and wait more to (hopefully) receive a non-pancaked CPU ?

  1. The CPU part of that looks absolutely fine, but yeah, it’s on Amazon to package things properly and that certainly wasn’t.

  2. Accomplished_Tip3597

Did you test the cpu at least?

  3. ieatcake2000

At least see if the cpu is ok I’ve gotten PC parts that the box was pancaked but the part works perfectly fine

  4. Lol, it suck’s but more than likely the cpu is fine

  5. Xspud_316

How did they deliver this ? By kicking it down the street or something

  6. Wander715

CPU looks 100% fine. Test it, keep it if it’s fine, send Amazon pictures of the packaging and ask for a gift card or something.

  7. If the cpu is fine then there shouldn’t be an issue. This is a minor inconvenience at worst.

  8. Rukasu17

Be glad they at least ysed a cardboard box to send it. I ordered a fragile gift last month and they wrapped it in those shitty soft plastic bags. Yeah, it showed up just like yours.

  9. Dampin1

Mine was shipped from China from AliExpress and pristine.

  10. Looks fine, not even worth the effort to send it back tbh

If you’re doing that out of principle it’s ok, but if you really are just interested in the processor and don’t care about the packaging theres a very high probability that the CPU is fine.

  13. Davajita

Times like these I’m so grateful to have a microcenter in driving distance. God bless brother I hope they take care of you.

  14. JayTriples

I would send it back purely for the box. I know I’m weird 😅

  15. Yeah, I’d be annoyed but I wouldn’t hesitate to run that CPU if the pins aren’t bent.

  16. RunnerLuke357

It’s fine dude. Check if the pins are bent and if they aren’t you should be fine. Ignoring pins, it takes a lot to kill a CPU.

  17. tazman137

That looks like UPS Ground and Pound delivered it.

The whole point of packaging is to get beat up instead of whatever its carrying lol

  20. AmazingAd6312

This is literally every UPS package I’ve ever received……Nice to see it’s spreading.

  21. Runawaygeek500

I had this with a 5080. I paid £1250 for it. Called Amazon before I even opened the box and asked for a refund/exchange. They agreed but also asked if I would be interested in testing it and if it worked 100% I could have a £250 refund and keep it..

I spent a day benchmarking and stressing it and it was fine. So I took the £250 refund.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  22. IamChwisss

Man I just went through something like this with Amazon. It took them a month to give my my refund. Hope yours goes faster than mine did.

  23. sacredknight327

Jesus, Ace Ventura must’ve been the delivery guy.

  24. Careless_Iron5938

Amazon have some scam amd chips beware

  25. Specific_Panda_3627

I would send them pictures and ask for a new one, maybe they’ll forget about this one 🤷🏻‍♂️

  26. PuG3_14

I doubt the CPU is damaged tho. Check the cpu’s condition and then return it if its cooked

  27. JohnQMERICA

If it still works after all that, Amazon packaged it just fine.

  28. DepthSouthern2230

Why did you even take this package home? You should have filed a dispute right in the order pickup office.

  29. fiittzzyy

Mine arrived all the way from China in a *much* better condition.

  30. BacklogGamingJunkie

Like others have said, the cpu is well packed on inside, the outside does look at big alarming. I’m 91% certain the cpu will work just fine 👍🤷‍♂️

  31. switzer3

who let the owner of userbenchmark package this

  32. Nickhntr

Just put some duct tape on it. You’ll be alright

  33. MoeMalik

Were they playing football with it????

  34. PutErInTheKetchup

Why does it matter if the packaging is crushed? You bought the product inside, not the packaging.. are you ok?

  35. Benevolent__Tyrant

I get the frustration but there is nothing wrong with the CPU. You can be angry all you want about the packaging. But at the end of the day all you want is a CPU which you received in perfect condition.

The CPU isn’t bent and so long as the pins are fine. It’s fine.

  36. Ozzie-Isaac

I ordered one and after waiting weeks it just never arrived. Guess their having problems

  37. Commercial_Potato_25

Me sucedió lo mismo, pero como vivo en Argentina el reclamo y la devolución del mismo era algo muy engorroso. Además el cpu en si no tenia ningún daño.

  38. pafuncio4win

cardboard box did the job, protected the thing inside, this prob working

  39. Themis3000

Amazon always does the minimum possible when they package stuff. Thin walled boxes, no bubble wrap only loose paper filling, and sometimes even no box if they can get away with it.

They give their employees terrible packing materials and tight targets to hit while not paying well and maintaining very low standards, so this is what happens

If you want stuff delivered in good condition, unfortunately you’ll have to buy from somewhere else

  40. billyoshin

I’ve got one brand new in a box ready to ship to ya

  41. Like wtf. They jumping on packages before delivering them.

  42. tzoni_montana

i guess im one of the lucky ones that managed to get a box from amazon without being destroyed

  43. Samson_J_Rivers

At least you get the damn package. My Amazon delivery person dumps it downtown in a busy metropolitan area in front of an apartment building. We have a package room. They just don’t even come into the building.

  44. tadpole06

I ordered a 3600 back in the day they sent it in the easy open bubble wrap package, had 3 bent pins luckily I could straighten them

  45. Zer0DotFive

Best Buy Canada sent my 9800X3D in a bubble mailer and the box looked like this and the cpu looked fine. Been working fine. Just still pissed something that delicate was sent in a fucking envelope.
