My interpretation of the console wars thus far:

    It’s more like
    “you can’t defeat me”
    “I know”

I mean, Steam now sells Playstation exclusive games after a year(ish). I don’t see Steam as competition therefore but another revenue source for Playstation. Playstation gets to keep their console domination, Nintendo keeps its handhold domination, and Steam keeps its pc domination. So it’s more like cable companies not going into each other’s areas.

But that’s my two cents on the matter.

There is a widely varying array of PC configurations out there….

Considering their performance and behavior in the PC space; don’t understand how anyone in gaming would think MS getting the upper hand on anything would be a good thing.

“Nintendo! For once in your life don’t Smash”

  6. Yunky_Brewster

    more like

PS: “You took everything from me (after a year)

PC: “I don’t even know where you came from”

I wish Sega could come back to jump into the fray

As soon as I can play all I want in linux I’ll ditch Wandows for ever.

Console wars only exist if you’re 12

Do you know when the update will officially arrive for the XBOX app? Do you know if they’ll enable a big picture mode like Playnite?

My first “console” in over a decade is a PC with a controller booting directly to Steam.

  12. VirtualDirtbagger

Steam on Xbox = steam wins the console wars.
Sure PC is still better. But I could see the next gen Xbox taking a bite out of low end budget PC prebuilts

  13. Living-Cheek-2273

steam win’s because it’s not a console it runs an actual OS.

  14. vjollila96

only ”console war” i see coming is steamOS vs windows handhelds especially with up coming xbox windows os or what ever its gonna be called. Valve ends up winning in the tho

Are we still doing the council war thing, bro this is old.. like dog. I remember this shit being a thing during high school back in 2008.

People still out here doing console war in the year of our Lord 2025.

Stop meat riding a company that doesn’t give a damn about you.

  16. WastelandOutlaw007

Until graphic cards dont cost the same as half a dozen XBOXs and PS5, the PC is still a long way away from “winning”

Console wars are for tards bro. Pc has always been and always will be the ultimate form of computations including gaming. It’s all about the pros and cons and what you need or want out of gaming experience. You want to do more than just game? You want mods and emulation and custom firmware? Pc. You like affordable devices but don’t care a ton about extra features or console exclusives and just want the most games for your buck? Xbox w/gamepass. You like exclusives? Nintendo or PlayStation, the irony being nothing actually stays exclusive for longer than a decade or so with emulation.

    It’s that simple you guys.

And the console wars continue (in the minds of the 12 yo)

  19. DemoniteBL

This has always been the case, but the Steam Deck and SteamOS are driving the point home. lol

Xbox did it to themselves. They saw Nintendo tank with the Wii u because of its terrible name and said “I can make an even worse name”

Now we have the Xbox 1 the Xbox 360 the Xbox one the Xbox one is the Xbox one x and I can’t even keep up anymore.

That and the fact that none of their first party games were working out so they had to resort to buying existing big studios to have anything successful.

Where’s Nintendo in all of this? Is it loki?

  22. Ok_Seaworthiness2218

PCMR is more obsessed with console fanboyism than actual console fanboys
