As for me. My answer was yes when I first watch Ghost in Shell and SAC over 20 years ago, and still yes after playing Cyberpunk 2077. If any part of my body started failing, I’d replace it in a heartbeat if I could, possibly with a Second Heart. I don’t mind getting old, hair going gray, wrinkles. I do mind slowing down and losing my mobility. Not too thrilled about possible mental decline either. If I could modify my body in any way to counter those things, I’d do it. Bit on the fence about cybernetic eyes though.

Only if I had the choice to have outgoing signals only and anything that needs to come in would be with physical connection, I don’t trust wireless standards to be secure enough to put in my brain.

  2. Artistic-Version1223

I would just get double jump and probably sum preem kiroshis

  3. SarpIlgaz

You bet ur ass Im gettin that black market borne, sketchy, questionable and completely gonk Mr. Studs

  4. Mithirael

If I had the money, full body conversion into something I actually liked. This bundle of flesh no longer entertains me. Never has.

  5. astarinthenight

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine.

  6. TheHarbinger0fWar

Metal is better than meat. Rip out as much as I can handle and build me a body worthy of humanity’s greatest technological leap in history. Carve the cutting edge of Arasaka’s finest homage to the gods of death and war into my very soul. Rip my mind from me and store it in Mikoshi so I can be copied endlessly into Alpha Class Full Body Conversions slotted into the latest DaiOni ACPAs.

  7. GwentAndSteel

Human feet are an evolutionary disaster — I’d replace them with some metal stuff that improves run, jump or whatever. And since I’ve worn thick glasses most of my life, I’d definitely swap in some cool optics. Strictly for local network use, tho

  8. Egomania27

I probably wouldnt, unless I need them for a job or something. Certainly not for the funsies. My job doesnt require me to have anything like this, and hacking off a limb seems quite a drastic measure to take.

Weirdly enough, a few years go in my adolescence I would have KILLED for Adam Jensen’s arm augments. Matter of fact, I’d still kill to have access to Barghests arm and leg cyberware in Cyberpunk.

  9. Clcooper423

God no, imagine how many AAA batteries you would go through… that just sounds annoying.

  10. GloomySpare6535

The only one I’m sold on would be Kiroshis or alts because I have terrible eyesight already. I imagine it is similar to tattoos in that once you get one, you can’t stop so likely I would keep going.

  11. Rough-Fondant4797

I definitely would because I have very vivid dreams I love to talk about them and I wish there was a way to just take the dream out if my brain and shove it into others heads so they can see what I saw xD I’d probably also get some eye inplants so I don’t need to wear glasses anymore. Idk if that’s because of the doll chip or some other implant but Evelyn changes her hair color several times during her story and I want that lol

  12. BlackieButt

I will be the first documented cyberpsycho with how much i will chrome up

  13. boxerbroscars

would be fun but I wouldnt want Jeff Bezos to turn off my eyes and limbs because I didnt pay for amazon prime that month

  14. blazingTommy

If go for *one* cybernetic eye. My left eye is kinda faulty, I have photophobia and it’s much harsher on it so a kiroshi with incorporated shades. Then, I’d also get cyberhands for better guitar playing when I get older and arthritis riddled. Perhaps also a superkidney since I got kidney stones frequently even despite diet and lifestyle changes.

  15. Disposable_Minion47

I just want the collective of their medical technology ( artificial limbs/organs/bio-monitiors/cybernetic eyes, etc ) for they have effectively ended human disability more or less. In addition to this there genetic tech as well.

This increase of Quality of Life would STICK IT to all those lobbying S.O.B. in the higher echelons of society

  16. replace the spine (fuck all those bones that can fuck up in various ways and screw your nerves).
deffo a brain shell of some kind.
Pain regulator (not for it to be consistently on, but it’d be nice to still be able to move in extreme circumstances and/or to get a restful night of sleep when things are fucking up or you are ill).

Whatever I’d need transition wise to feel happy in my body.

Optionally legs. Otherwise whenever something fails or breaks.

  17. Gorilla right arm, mantis blade left arm
    Cyberleg for boost jump
    Reinforced joints & spine
If cyberpsychosis wasn’t a factor, even a sandy

  18. Jorge_Boss_

In terms of affordability i doubt many of us could just get some, but if that’s out the window then borderline syberpsychosis

  19. seatsfive

I don’t think I would ever feel 100% comfortable with a deck/something jacked directly into my brain, but I would absolutely be riding the edge of cyberpsychosis otherwise. Second heart, reinforced ankles, as many durability mods as I could handle

  20. Likely just arms and legs. Part of my work requires walking for about 10 hours each day with minimal downtime, occasionally carrying heavy stuff too.

  21. Give me cyber titties and gorilla arms to lift them

  22. Hot-Category2986

I am a nearsighted asthmatic. New lungs and eyes would be superpowers for me.

  23. Panzermensch911

I’d get my eyes fixed, I’m sure you can do that without full change to cybernetics and probably strengthen all my joints. No more pain and new kidneys would be great. No lease or contract though. Full purchase for these things.

  24. X-_-LUNATIC-_-X

To a degree, yes. As much as I enjoy the cyberdeck in game, I’d have concerns over being hacked IRL, but the Kiroshi optics, the ability to double jump and the addition of epidermal armor would all be fantastic. A couple of other things like the biomonitor and the blood pump would also be cool addition.

  25. TotallyNotALombax

I told my buddy i want to be the first ripperdoc when things kick off. But, yeah, id get chipped, and it would 110% be a busted ass sandevistan just like david got. Im tryna see what basejumping feels like when i do it at like.. a quarter of a mile an hour, in real time.

It has the most practical uses, imo, as im not really here to go taking out people’s property with any netrunning; i just want to be able to grab my phone, before it hits asphalt, if i drop it.

    Also gooning

  26. almightyender

Man, just make my knees and back not hurt. I’ll deal with everything else.

  27. Imnotinthewoods

Well my buddy is always bitching about not having sub-dermal armor.
    I’d get optics for sure.

  28. Silica_123

I would very quickly end up dancing with maxtac with the amount of metal id shove into my body

  29. e_ndoubleu

I would for sure get kiroshi eyes. That seems like the best overall implant to get so you can analyze your surroundings and people on a whim. But Vic did hook up V with the NCPD crime report thing, so us average Joe’s actually wouldn’t be able to analyze people and get a status on them. But maybe we could connect to Facebook/other social media and it has facial recognition tech?

Aside from that I would want the double jump or charge jump legs. Optical camo would be really cool too. Idt I need a cyberdeck, maybe the processor that boost your cyberware capacity so I have no threat to reach cyberpsychosis.

  30. My_MeowMeowBeenz

Yes. We all would, that’s the point of the genre really. Cyberpunk exists in a world of runaway capitalism, you can’t even get a corpo job without enough enhancements and drugs to keep you working 360 days per year. Don’t wanna be a corpo? No problem, you never had the chance anyway. If you want a hard labor job you’re gonna need to chip into this gray market Militech walker that may or may not cause you to have a psychotic break.

  31. Outside of organ or limb failure, I’d have a few conditions :

    – it need to be completely airwalled, except for maybe a solid physical connection. I am not taking my chances with having my heart hacked.

    – it need to be fully open-source. My own limb isn’t property. Not mine and certainly not a prosthetic company’s. It’s pretty much the only way to make the users free from the company going bankrupt, choosing to discontinue support for their prosthetics or that kind of things.

  32. Itz-yaboi-skinypenis

I absolutely would replace so much of my body with cold steel. I love wearing silver and gold because I wish it would melt into my flesh and lend me its shine.
