And I absolutely love part one.

The videos don't really do it justice. From the music, to the lighting, to the camera to the graphics everything feels like its been turned up to 11.

10 minutes in and it already feels like one of the most epic games I've played. If you were on the fence and liked DS1 at all in the slightest, I think its safe to say you'll like part two.

It's gonna be hard going back to DS1 after playing this.

Whoah, almost didn’t notice the character model down there and thought this was someone taking a photo of their hike..

I’ve been a schmuck and got the digital deluxe edition for early access, it’s downloading now. But PS stars effectively paid the difference so it doesn’t count!

My mind was absolutely blown away when I started it up before. The level of detail is insane.

The best part is the Quality mode is smooth as butter, even though I believe it’s only 30fps. It’s absolutely flawless and really doesn’t feel like it’s only 30. I’m not super sensitive to frame rate to be honest but I was still super impressed about how smooth it was.

    It’s an absolute technical marvel.

Ah, the sweet nostalgia of losing track of time in a virtual world. Good times.

DS1 was a special game, I’ve been searching for something similar for ages and nothing quite comes as close. Can’t wait to get some more right from the source.

I like that they had the option to Recap the previous part (it helped me a lot)

I really want Kojima to make a new Metal Gear game before I die and this has the same vibe as five, but has different objectives. Also, how come the main character doesn’t have access to a horse, dirt bike, ATV, hover craft etc? Seems like that would break the game, but traversing cliffs seems tedious when there are more efficient ways of transportation.

Do I have to block this subreddit too so I don’t see spoilers? 😭

Hearing someone’s thoughts on the game after 10minutes means absolutely nothing to me tbh

  10. I had a hard time lasting more than 5-6 hours in DS1, tried twice, it’s still installed. I just don’t really want to walk back the distance back to the first base, and the *black whatever murder baby startler shadows* are more annoying rather than an interesting gameplay feature. I want to go further in it but I end up booting Skyrim when I want to walk and relax.

Kojima really failed in his objectives with this game. Way too many people like it.

Credit to Guerrilla Games for their Decima Engine! That’s what Death Stranding is running on. The same engine that Horizon games are on.

I know GG and Sony never really considered leasing that engine out but for the love of god, how good that engine is, I wish more studios would use it. Ive said this before but I feel Helldivers 2 would benefit insanely well from that engine assuming it would be fine for that type of game. The engine is incredible for handling physics, beautiful environments, and complex character model movements and designs. Just seems like HD2 would be so much better off if their foundation was built off of this engine vs the obsolete one they are on now and constantly trying to bandaid fix it feels…

  13. The title makes little sense, tech demos often show the absolutely best an engine can achieve and often looks better than the games made using that engine.

maybe wait for it to release before you cast any shade? when has a game ever released in the graphics the previews show? in japan specifically they adapted a culture where it is about showing over delivering (take ff16 for example)

I thought I was about to click on this and give feedback on someone photography

It’s definitely winning the best visual of the year, for sure

Damn. One of the biggest gaming travesties I’ve ever experienced is how monotonous and irksome the GAMEPLAY is in death stranding (1).

Slowly delivering packages. Whilst maintaining balance. Slowly creeping past invisible enemies. Having to pacify a crying baby(my #1 gripe). Just fuck all that. How about something fun??? A puzzle, a battle, anything.

The game is INCREDIBLE top-to-bottom while simultaneously being one of the worst and most annoying games I’ve ever played.

It’s like how in movies we never see the characters doing mundane things like working or doing chores or using the bathroom, because that’s all boring and insignificant.

Death Stranding is watching an amazing movie with terrific visuals, great sound, awesome and engaging story/lore/characters, but ALL the emphasis is on that boring insignificant stuff like washing the dishes and taking a shit. Oh and there’s a fucking crying baby behind you at the theater the whole time.

Oh, I was convinced the release date was in september. Now I know what to do this summer.

Insane this is the same engine for horizon. Looks much more realistic

I’m an hour in and this game is gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful!

  21. Rookie question here, do I have to play part 1 to understand what’s going on in part it or no only if I want to learn more for lore purposes and getting the emotional attachments to the characters.

  22. Homerbola92

Honestly I really liked walking and connecting places in FS1 but the plot was teeny, animesque and honestly incoherent and overall just bad. This is a problem in a game that has a ton of cinematics.

I don’t think DS2 will improve at all in this regard but I guess I will enjoy moving around again and pretend the stuff that’s going on makes sense.

  23. Electric-Mountain

I mean yeah you have to have a big world to walk around in in a walking simulator.

  24. I didn’t notice the player in that damn. This feels like a game to get lost in. Though I’ll have to wait for a year or two to play on PC and for the director’s cut

  25. totallynotabot1011

Graphics means nothing if the gameplay is boring

  26. The-Raccoon-Man

The PC scene seem quite passionate for the Original Game uh **BRING ON THE PC RELEASE.** 🔥

  27. bookers555

I like that the game goes straight to the part where you can start developing goodies like vehicles and weapons and skips the tedious beginning of DS1.

The controls are also WAY better, almost feels like MGSV whereas DS1 could often feel clunky.

  28. jimbojoegin

They did call the first one a walking simulator lol
