Although things were looking somewhat sparse up until a bit ago, the tag-based fighting game scene has suddenly found itself more crowded now with the likes of 2XKO, Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and now Invincible VS on the way.
Skybound Games and Quarter Up released a new gameplay trailer for Atom Eve in Invincible VS today.
Unlike the titular Invincible, who we got a trailer for last week, Eve unsurprisingly appears to be more of a zoner character.
We can see in the footage here that she can use her atomic constructs to rain down projectiles on the opponent as well as create spikes that come up from the ground, but that doesn’t mean she can’t fight up close too.
It sounds like she has the ability to fly too.
The official character description for Atom Eve is as follows:
“Eve Wilkins was born with the ability to manipulate matter at a subatomic level as the result of a top-secret government experiment to create the ultimate weapon. But young Eve would be nobody’s weapon, forging her own path as the independent humanitarian hero, Atom Eve. Atom Eve is a mid-range zoning character who excels at keeping opponents at a distance and maintaining pressure through ranged attacks. Her increased mobility ‘Hover’ feature makes her a valuable ‘point’ or ‘mid’ Fighter.”
This is the first game out of the new studio Quarter Up, but they have a history with fighting games being made up of former Double Helix developers, who of course made the Killer Instinct reboot.
Invincible VS is scheduled to release in 2026 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
