It looks like something from Rain World. Rainpunk.

  2. Dripping_Wet_Owl

Reminds me of Ilos from Mass Effect 1.

So, planet that’s been lost for millennia…punk? I guess?

Plants+concrete/city doesn’t inherently mean solarpunk. This is clearly a deserted, overgrown cityscape and is thus post-apocalyptic. Looks of a piece with the scenery from *I Am Legend*.

Solarpunk would be people using this environment to thrive a la Psalm for the Wild-Built, not it being devoid. Same vague type of beauty, sans life needed

  5. tbh, could be anywhere that makes sense. It’s just a place, in specific state. Nothing too specific. So could be abandoned corporate installation, after the 2nd corpo wars it became unprofitable. The pandemic of 2086 reduced the population, so this place now stands abandoned, overgrowing with vegetation.

But you can write any other story, fitting solarpunk or whatever, alien planet and what not. Cyberpunk just happens to be the most popular genre, so it’s natural people tend to see many Sci-Fi as Cyberpunk (or indeed solarpunk). Rather than other (sub)genres that are less known.

That’s just your typical post human world.

i am going to bully op for thinking that brutalism with moss is somehow “solarpunk”

Reminds me of the maze from Maze Runner. I could see it being an abandoned structure or city in a solarpunk world.

Looks more brutalist to me. This is just devoid of life

  10. Solarpunk is usually in a utopia kind of setting. More or less the opposite
