That’s your monitor, but all you need is a light squirt of water and microfibre cloth. “Screen cleaner” destroys your display

  2. Stock_Plankton_61

There is an entire online trend about cleaning things without it leaving streaks google “streaking” for more info

  3. Next_Ad2144

1st don’t use that screen cleaner

  4. NeoNeonMemer

Looks like water is better huh, how much shud i be using?

  5. Aggravating_Sky_4421

Damp cloth (microfiber) to clean off the caked on… stuff.. and a dry cloth to wipe off the water before it dries.

  6. ArmadilloNo7517

The same shit they use to clean out aquariums. Isopropyl alcohol is the best for this and a microfiber cloth.

I had seen a YT Short on how to clean your monitor made by LTT like 2 years ago and it’s been working perfectly for me on my laptop display

Just take a microfiber cloth and distilled water (I use normal tap water and I didn’t really have any problem though)

Fold up the cloth and make it damp, then clean your display with circular motion and then wipe it off with a dry cloth. No smudges either

Personally, I tried normal water, distilled water, my breath, tissue paper, microfiber cloth but no mater what I did it lefts streaks and in the end I gave up. It doesn’t bother me anymore and you won’t notice anyway once the screen is on.

now if you were wondering about the glass on the computer, pledge.

Distilled water, micro fiber cloth. Use a separate cloth to dry.

  11. Appropriate_Jump_579

Time and patience. Also the Miagi method.

  12. Gang-Weed-MLG-69

How does that cleaner destroy your monitor? I use rubbing alcohol and never had a problem

  13. exceld9

do a circular motion when wiping instead of 1 vertical/horizontal motion

  14. Unable_Resolve7338

Circular motion for me. Also helps when the cloth is just the right amount of wet from the cleaning agent, not too dry to not work, not to wet that it leaves marks.

  15. TorqueG88

I use eyeglass cleaner and a microfiber cloth and that works for me.

  16. I spray my screen cleaner on my micro-fiber cloth and lightly rub in circles rather than straight lines.

  17. AcrylicNinja

Hot water on a microfiber and a small splash of alcohol. ring it out a few times under more hot water.. wipe it down and then wipe it down with a clean and dry microfiber

Hi there, I used to into that issue back then and it was annoying in a lit room. I don’t have this problem anymore, you need 2 microfiber cloths one for wet wiping and the other to wipe after. And Distilled Water

You put a bit of Distilled Wateron the 1st cloth and do circular motions (change the part of wiping the screen for the dirt doesn’t touch the next section)
When you’re done with the full screen use the 2nd microfiber cloth for a 2nd wipe, this time without Distilled Water

  19. X-olotl

I spritz distilled water on to a cloth for glasses and clean.

  20. jacobfromnewmex

Distilled water (in a spray bottle) > Sprayed on a soft microfiber cloth (or spritzed lightly on your screen) > Wipe softly in a circular/oval motion.

Has always worked fantastic for me across mirrors, displays, etc.

  21. _Name__Unknown_

Damp cloth and clean with light and quick circular motions. You will see before your own eyes water evaporating and will not leave streaks. Remember damp not wet.

  22. The ONLY thing I trust and use on everything is: screen mom. You can find it on Amazon. Just follow the directions and make sure your screen is cold aka hasn’t been turned on yet for the day.

I spent years looking for the perfect product only to discover that they all suck and leave streaks. The “porosity” of anti-glare monitors is absolutely the enemy of any product. In the end I understood that a cloth moistened with hot water is enough. Everything else inevitably leaves streaks!

  24. Krejcimir

Water and fine cloth, those made for glasses.

  25. IntrovertMoTown1

If it doesn’t have any sort of anti glare coating, a solution of half white vinegar and half distilled water is the best thing for screens. I use to smoke indoors which leaves a nasty sticky residue on like everything that normally is hard to wipe off. The vinegar was strong enough to take it off no problem and the distilled water leaves no streaks. Nothing I have ever had any of those type of coatings so I use it for all my monitors and TVs. If it does have such coatings though I wouldn’t use anything other than distilled water. Even things that say they’re specifically for screens.

  26. RedhawkAs

I use circles when wiping and just use a spray to damp a cloth just a little bit

  27. MannyM024

A little white vinegar and immediately dry it

  28. Readymer

First of all: stop buying shit that says “premium”, “nano” etc.

Second: dilute your IPA with distilled water 70/30, get a nice plush microfiber towel, apply the solution to said towel and go to town with it. This is the absolute best for any reflective surface prone to smudges and streaks of all kinds.

  29. DigitalStefan

Everyone saying “just use water / damp cloth” isn’t wrong, but they also aren’t entirely right.

The only way to really clean without streaks is by using deionized water. I buy mine from Amazon. Also perfect for use in a clothes iron so that it doesn’t get clogged with scale, which can mark clothes.

You also have to use a completely clean cloth. Microfibre is best.

You cannot clean and not have streaks if you’re using tap water or regular bottled water.

  30. azeunkn0wn

make sure you have the right micro fiber cloth.
just damp it with water. preferably drinking water, distilled.

wipe in circular motion. first with damp, then with dry microfiber cloth.

  31. alcohol 99% evaporates fast and use napkins

  32. Mut0inverno

only distilled water with a damp microfibre cloth

  33. Noob4Head

Water and a microfiber cloth. All these screen cleaner liquids are completely rubbish.

  34. TankYouBearyMunch

I use pre moistened, single-use lens wipes. I achieve best results with them.
