This gets asked at least a few times a week.

Yeah. It is. So long as the cat is not known for puking, in which case, I wouldn’t.

Truthful answer its not great, while its cute and makes a neat photo moment. Could cause over heating issues basically she blocking the fans so its no different then if you put a book over them.

I would try to put something up there to deter her. Its also not good for cats to be on PC anyway they can do a lot of things that are bad for a PC like pee on it accidentally or throw up.

What ever you put up to deter her please make sure it allows the fans to vent

It’s fun and all until she gets scared for no reason, jumps away and your pc falls on the floor.

very bad for your PC, cats tend to dmg pcs a lot. I would suggest not allowing your cat to be in rooms with sensitive equipment.

Good luck finding a solution. You have a cat and a heater.

As long as you have a filter for the fans you’re good, make sure to also clean them often

As long as your temps are fine then no its not bad for the PC.

However, there are people who have built/bought little shelves with vents in them for the fur baby to sit on instead.

I suggest something doing the same

It’s generally not great, from what I’ve seen. The best proposed solution is to get a PC stand that has a ventilated top shelf piece. That way the cat isn’t physically on your PC, there’s some protection if they make a mess, but can still get some warmth from the fans and still be nicely elevated to hang out with you.

You must be some gamer. This cat is captivated.

You’re blocking airflow, which is never going to be a good thing. Especially as in a home with pets you are gonna be getting more hair in the PC to begin with. Also allowing animals around expensive electronics gives a chance of things being scratched/knocked over/bodily fluid entering.

Ideally you’d break them of it before it becomes a habit, but if you’re past that point already you may be hard pressed to dissuade them. You may want to get something that’d block them from getting on top without blocking airflow itself.

She’s waiting for the mouse in your computer to come out. Totally normal cat behavior.

  14. Nothing wrong with some pussy on your pc

My cat lives on my desktop and drags cat litter and earth from pot plants into the grill.
