This is a photo from their website too… the same page I placed the pickup order from on the app. This has to be some form of false advertising.
They scammed you, it normally does come with a cartridge. Games that don’t come with one have a white box at the bottom of the cover saying so. Also I don’t know how you people deal with bestbuy. Heard multiple times they don’t fully fulfill their orders and if they do, they include a digital code instead of physical game or sometimes just include a stock switch box instead of the original one lol. That shit would not fly where I live.
You will own nothing (except the case) and be happy.
Did it have the plastic wrap around it when you purchased it? Or was it just the plastic case and no wrap?
If there was still plastic wrap around it, sounds like it was a manufacturing mistake.
If there was no plastic, it was definitely tampered with

That’s weird. Never saw this. And if you say that the Code is on printing paper… I wouldn’t even be sure the of the code is working. Also who sold Best Buy this copies? Highly suspicious. Go to another store chain.
They’ve done this for years. I don’t understand why a physical copy and a digital copy cost the same. No physical copy should make it cheaper. But here we are

That is so strange, I picked up my copy from my best buy and it came sealed with the cartridge no issues. I’m wondering if that was a bad run that slipped past QA maybe? Also mine didn’t come with a download code at all, just a code for some extra unlockables out the gate.
It says that there is a download code at the bottom that you scratched out.Maybe you will be able to redeem that somehow

CDPR has stated the game will ship on the cartridge (AFAIK the only digital version is available through the Nintendo Store).
If this was a legitimate store location, their entire shipment may have been compromised and stolen.
Take it back and buy it somewhere else.
I worked at best buy long ago. Never scammed anything like this but I can tell you each store has a wrap machine in the warehouse and can shrink wrap everything again. I used to shrink wrap PCs and software together to be sold as bundles.
I’d contact Best Buy, someone messed with their shipment

That download code should be in the box, that’s not a mistake, that’s the DLC code. Someone is swiping cartridges though.

If this happened to multiple copies, you should ask to talk to the store manager. Unfortunately, like all giant retailers, they have a solid wall between customers and their business, so it’s extremely hard to contact them directly about a problem as a consumer. Your only avenue of letting them know there’s a problem is in person. They may have had a major theft at that store.
