Star Wars: Empire at War (2006) was one of my favorite Star Wars games, up there with the original Battlefronts

A certified classic. I always found the space battles to be the strongest part of the game. Still enjoyable today with the many available total-conversion mods

  2. I found the ship battle to be boring. But yea it’s still one of the Star Wars greats.

  3. I hope this comes as a surprise to someone, but this game is still alive and kicking in the modding community.

It’s a 2gb game but it takes up 200gbs for me due to all the mods I have for it. Fantastic workshop.

I highly recommend the “4.0 Remake Clone Wars holdouts”, there’s some nice vibes about taking on Imperial Star Destroyers with a bunch of Vulture and Hyena droid fighters.

OH and Awakening of the Rebellion is amazing for graphic quality. I absolutely love zooming in on the tiniest of freighters in battle and seeing all the greebling and details.

And with mods like Thrawn’s Revenge and Awakening of the Rebellion, its basically a modern game now. Still one of my most played games this year alone

Before its recent resurgence EAW very regularly had more avg active players on steam than battle front 2

A wonderful game, kept alive by an excellent modding community.

An excellent game for it’s time that still holds up today. It’s a crime that a sequel has never been made. All the different eras they could work with!
