Seeing as you got it figured out.
Just want to pount out, when you said PCIe1. I immediately thought you were trying to install it into a PCIe x1 slot instead of a PCIe x16 slot.

Computer building advice: Measure twice, cut once. Slow is fast. Remained grounded. Your workplace must be an oasis and zen garden with tall walls, sound-proofing and a locked door. Green felt is your friend. When in doubt, take a beat. Only ever work with someone much calmer than yourself. Aziz, more light!

You need to remove the plastic cover.
Also your SSD should be in the top M.2 slot, that bottom one is likely limited to PCIE Gen 3.

Remove the plastic protection on the GPU side of the port, it’s a classic.

There’s a protective plastic cover on the PCIe slot on the GPU. Pull it off.
The gpu has a cover on the PCIe connector so it doesn’t get damaged in shipping, you have to take it off first.
Take the cover off the connector on the gpu.
hahaha, take the protective cover off of the GPU contacts
I LOVE THIS! <3
Are you by any chance a mom?
You need to take the plastic cover off the PCIe slot.
Take the cover off and try again my dude
