Started looking at some fan upgrades and rebuilding and cleaning everything.
Then I realized that it’s not thermal throttling so it doesn’t matter.

Ugh. I have the worst luck with this kind of shit. Few blasts of air duster to clean it out? Stops working. Move it to another room? Stops working. Power flickers during a storm? Stops working. Cat accidentally steps on the on/off button on the power strip? Stops working.
And then comes two or three hours of unplugging, replugging, removing, reinserting, power cycling, clearing the cmos, trying different sticks of RAM, using a PSU tester, trying a different wall socket, letting it stay turned off for an hour or two or an entire day. In the end it always seems to just randomly decide when to start booting again.

Reminds me of the time my Dad decided to clean out an old CRT TV using an air compressor. It went from a slightly dated but completely functional TV to non functional real quick, which is a shame because the whole reason he cleaned it was to use it.

Maybe the dust wasn’t so bad in the end
