Should be 8, not 10 years. but the thought still stands

General rule on here is the older and more obsolete your GPU is the higher your karma (and bonus points if it’s AMD!).

If I wanted max karma I’d change my flair to something like an RX 580 and constantly post about how it’s trucking along in all my favorite games.

1080ti owners telling themselves its “still going strong!” while playing at 35fps, praying the next generation’s flagship is $300

Behold This is my 1070. That’s it,

Still a great that got me to my RX 7900 XT(none X).

My my 1070 live long as my NAS/homemedia server gaming GPU

*my 1080ti is still sufficient, I’ll wait till next gen cards come out for lower prices.*

I think I have a 1060 I can’t remember but my card lowkey has been tanking so hard recently that I’m looking into building an entirely new pc 😭

1080 ti owners are the vegan Linux users of the GPU community. Just gotta let everyone know they have one still.

Then they whine about how new UE5 games are “unoptimized” (they are playing at 4K/Ultra settings with maximum RT and no upscaling)

    Wish i had a 1080 ti so i could flex 🫂

I’m so glad this sub is finally accepting the 1080ti owners as the vegans of this group. So loud for no good reason anymore. Lmao

Some real elitist perks in this thread about the 1080ti. I’m not sure you can deny it’s one of the greatest GPUs ever made. Your quips about 34fps even when new are asinine in the extreme. It’ll run Cyberpunk on high settings and easily hit 60+ fps. Yes of course 1080p and no ray tracing. It has 12GB of vram which is more than you can say about any current GPU. It’s performance per watt is also much higher in most applications.

I get it, but at the same time I rode the wheels off of my own 1080 Ti before retiring it from my main rig because it was solid for so long. The card truly is legendary, and if there are gamers out there who still find it suitable for their needs despite it being 8 years old now then more power to them for continuing to put the Pascal architecture to work.

You can’t blame the 1080 Ti for hanging on so long, no one thought 11GB would still be better than $300 graphics cards after a whopping 8 years.
