He does make a good point, we’ve seen a lot of top teams start rusty in stage 2 or stage 3 because it’s difficult to play your A game when it’s your first official in a long time. Playing early in the major gives plenty of opportunities to warm up and perform better (see teams like Legacy or Lynn Vision)

Falcons had that advantage so they’ll be much more prepared in their playoffs match against Vitality.
It all makes sense.

The International 11, Team Secret and Team Liquid came into the TI from the last chance qualifier all the way to the final day. both team place 2nd and 3rd respectively after playing an insane amount of games to get there.
so yes, there’s a precedent to this

These esports personalities are always full of excuses“Stage 1,” “BO1,” “Legacy shouldn’t be here,” blah blah.
Stage 1 advantage? How exactly? It’s not like those are just warm-up games. They carry real pressure of elimination. Couple of loss and you’re out, which is a massive mental strain.
If Stage 1 is such an advantage, why don’t you downgrade and play it yourselves? Oh right, you won’t.

Played a local lan tournament a few months ago on the venues pcs (good ones) it took about 2-3 maps to really set into the new setup. After that it was like “home” so i really see why bo1 upsets are happening by stage 1 teams
Saw_Good_Man
it’s the bo1s to blame here. Imagine getting a wake up call after map 1 and you wake up to the lower bracket.

That’s cope, I bet you they wouldn’t trade places with a Stage 3 team if asked. CS personalities really just spew out controversial hot takes just to sound like a “genius”.

Ropz likely accidentally used inch measuring tape instead of cm, so his desk was a meter too high.

Ok .. give highest seed teams the option to play in stage 1. It’s will be the exact same system we have now as no one will choose that option

IF true, then good. Stage 3 have higher-ranked teams. This balances the dynamic fairly enough.
