50bmg is not a sniper round, it is actually an anti material round. Meant for things such as vehicles.338 is meant for people. Yet about 9/10 of the longest shots on people were with 50cal.
50. cals are WILDLY over rated. Yes they do a lot of single target damage, but thats not it's purpose. It's purpose was to penetrate lightly armored vehicles (for the most part). And also most other rounds can easily kill a person in a couple shots. Like Strider said, 338. can more than easily one tap a person irl, and so could 7.62×51. 50. bmg is NOT meant for shooting personal like most games portray it.
The 408. Cheytec is a bullet meant to a the offspring between these with a effective range of 2,200 yards and the 338. Is 2,000 yards for it's effective range and it has the right amount of power for light armored targets like infantry fighting vehicles (ex: Humvee)
The AI AWP (Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Police) is not chambered in .338 lapua magnum. It is chambered in .308 Winchester. However, the Arctic Warfare MAGNUM (AWM) is chambered in .338 lapua.
But, the 50 cals are designed more specifically for heavy armor penetrating, its literally on their name "Antimaterial Rifles", so you would use an expensive round just to kill a person, you wouldnt kill him, its the equivalent of burning a house down over spiders

Of course the AWP is better, AWP is a gun while 50 BMG is a specific type of munition, you cant compare a gun to a type of ammo (yes im being pedantic)
