Am I the only one that never used this highway throughout my whole playthrough? I’ve played the game multiple times and I have around 200 hours and I spotted this highway while driving through Japan town south. It has like 3 exits and there’s this long stretch when there is no on ramps or off ramps for a solid minute of driving. Maybe it’s just because I never needed to go that way or because the gps rarely uses it, idk. I wanna hear what yall think.

The other day i turned down a random road on accident and all my hours of playing cyberpunk ive never seen that road in my life, made me think what other roads have i not travelled?
I’ve used it before on playthroughs where I don’t fast travel. Admittedly I use it a lot less these days since they added the metro but I still use it sometimes.
The freeway that loops around the city? I use that all the time but the pathing on the map will almost never send you on it. You’d think the game would send you on the shortest path but that’s not always the case and sometimes the shortest isn’t the fastest.
Also, I am confused why they put an intersection right in the middle of the freeway in corpo plaza.
These road is quite useless in terms of gig and mission but is a quite fun suburbs passing roads with some good details and discover
Maybe they need to add a achievement for using every road?
Previous to version 2.0, that highway used to be closed off. There is a scripted encounter on that highway between Trauma Team and the Tyger Claws. Help TT out and there’s some cool interactions.
It is a stupid highway to basically nowhere. It’s way faster to use Skyline in most cases if you’re trying to get from the roundabout in Japantown to Senate/Palm View Way.
The map in general is a giant basketweave of poor urban planning. Very lore accurate dystopia, lol.
This is why I like to walk in games.
According to Pondsmith, the roads of NC were designed (intentionally by him, unintentionally in-universe) to make every traffic-management mistake possible.
I always see this as a design choice lol, where I live, we have so many useless highways that do nothing but cause the city temperature to rise and ruin the present traffic conditions in the city.
It was designed to be “useless”. CDPR designed the roadways to be difficult to navigate on purpose reasoning that Night City was building just to build without much planning.
“Night City urban planners don’t want commuters to know about this ONE little-known TRICK!”
