  1. Amazing start…but next year and the year after will decide if it will come close to Switch 1 and Ps2 or even PS4 numbers.

“Here’s the switch again, but the game cartridges that don’t have the game on it, and we want more money for both the console and games.”

    Nintendo fans: “yeah seems reasonable”

imagine the sells if they launched with a new super smash bros lol

Like I said in another sub:

    > Damn. Nintendo platform is popular in Nintendo’s strongest market. What a shock.

Nintendo selling well in Japan shouldn’t surprise anyone.

  5. everyone hyped to finally play their switch 1 games with stable framerate 🙂

I can’t believe they’ve scammed almost a million people, or at least that’s what some small minority keep yelling at me lmfao

Edit: For those who removed their comment(s), the joke here is the idiots seething about how much of a failure and scam Nintendo’s Switch 2 is, which is completely wrong and they’re out of touch lmao

  7. Yeah well Europe is financing rest of the world so ofc it will sell.

AAA Xbox/ps generally cost less than Mario kart world!

BREAKING: Sony uncovers previously lost financial records showing that the PS2 had a larger launch weekend than the Switch 2.

One very critical factor is supply management.

Consoles usually run into massive supply issues at launch, leading to massive scalping.

However, Nintendo has so far done an excellent job at managing supply – I’m in the country right now, and practically every single department store in the country seems to have a well-prepared stock of (Japanese only) consoles for anybody who walks in.

Whether it’s a Daimaru in Osaka or an isolated Don Quijote in a sleepy Fukushima town, every store has Switch 2’s ready. It’s all the more impressive considering Japan is currently full of tourists for the World Expo.

Credit where credit is due: supply needs are well handled. I can practically see the scalpers losing money as we speak.

The Nintendo Fan Club are just the biggest nerds. They love big corporate while they get meat smacked in their face.

And only in Japan over 2 million people signed for preorder lottery. So they still have lots of work to do.

  15. I believe this also doesn’t include the nintendo website numbers for japan, so 1/3 of all switch 2s were sold in japan. Means it’s not selling like crazy in other countries as it did in japan.

Nintendo definitely running a social experiment

That’s not possible, all those Reddit threads assured me that the Nintendo prices would make it DOA, could they have been wrong?

  20. Reminder that they priced it high “because our forcast shows poor sales.” So…
