My craptop (ThinkPad E14 with the i3 :/) barely runs Far Cry 2, but I've got a total of 200 games which run flawlessly. More when you factor in Retroarch.

The only game I'm really jonesing for is Schedule 1, it sorta kinda runs but crashes a lot.

This is really cool tbh, I kind of envy you a bit. Just a bit though lol

I have a beastly desktop PC but I game more, and enjoy it more usually, on my Steam Deck. Lower specs really makes me prioritize fun and performance which usually results in odd little indie games that I might not have checked out otherwise or old favorites. I just played through Circle of the Moon for the second time in my life and it was a BLAST, can’t wait to dive into the other GBA Castlevanias!

What’s more impressive is the cat let you put him in that sweater without trying to destroy it and/or do you a murder.

My cat has the same bee costume, take my upvote…

My blind ass could not see that far away.

    Also the cat is adorable.

For me, theres so so many games out there, that I find it very difficult for someone to be limited in any meaningful way when there are people out there launching GTA V on their smartphones via winlator.

Shoutout to the abandonware site. Most of the games are random shovelware trash, but theres certainly some gems to be found. No matter how basic the hardware, there are certainly quality games out there to try.

Now I say all this, i wonder what the latest absurd thing had doom ported to it. Last I heard we had doom running on a pregnancy test…

When my gaming rig has died and I’ve been relegated to an old machine or laptop, I have had some of the best gaming fun.

You don’t appreciate how fun so many games are than you normally don’t give the time for because you are too busy playing some highly competitive AAA hero shooter.

  10. GoldSrc

Older games tend to be more fun anyway.

I love that you included several photos of your cat. What a little bundle of perfection. And the Pro 2 in purple is way sick. You are totally thriving.

We don’t need these high end PCs to run the good games, they already came out and are 6+ years old now. Enough with the new slop, back to the golden ones.

As much as people will hate on it, you can buy brand new gear from two hardware generations ago that runs modern games just fine. I don’t see the point of buying the newest gpu just to hit 15% utilization on most titles when something like a 3060 or 1660 does just fine at 1080p.

  14. LowFi_Lexa1

I’d recommend playing resident evil 1, it’s gonna be so sick

Indie games genuinely are more fun full stop in my opinion. They’re just 100% crafted around fun with money coming second unlike AAA studios which operate around the opposite of that.

I prefer simpler games too and indies tend to be more straight forward than AAA

I’m not stuck and I still have a decently modern PC but I still play low requirement games and even just emulate things.

AAA games nowadays are just made to squeeze money until people are dried out husks. I refuse to play those kinds of skinner boxes.

  17. HeidenShadows

Funny thing is, AAA games have gone downhill. Some of the most fun games are the ones that were made 10 years ago, and Indy titles made now.

Quite the opposite. Pretty good spec but still dying (no energy to actually play da gaemz cuz work) :/
