The Castle Town terrified me as a kid. I always needed someone else to play through it for me every time I went forward in time.
OoT and Majora’s Mask had very unsettling horror elements that prevented me from fully enjoying the games as a kid.

I VIVIDLY remember leaving that Temple the first time as an adult, seeing one hunched over and thinking it was a suffering townsfolk. Naturally I ran over to talk and I got got. Terrifying.

Yeaaaah I hated those guys. Their moaning was disturbing and the screech felt like it froze my soul every time it happened.
Only found out a few months ago you can stun them for a good while by playing the suns song on the ocarina. Only took me coming on 30 years to figure it out lol.

What about the boss inside the well, Dead hand I think. The way he moved and craned his neck, freaked the hell outta me.

These guys were terrifying! But the sounds they make, combined with the music / ambiance of the areas you encounter them was really what put it over the top! <3 this game

After turning into adult link the first time I went into the destroyed hyrule town and got killed by re-deads and was so freaked out I ran and turned off the console and asked my mom if something like that existed in reality lmao

These guys, and the whole vibe of the town, had me so fucked up as a kid. Anytime I had to go through that part of the game if just try to get it over and done with as fast as possible. Mofos made my skin crawl, and they still do.
