– Unrelated to both Code Vein AND God Eater, a completely new world.
– Darker and more dramatic than the previous stories
– Time travel between 100 years where in the past humans and revenants live together and the world is intact, and a broken world after Luna Rapacis turns the Revenants into Horrors where nearly no one is left around.
– Enhanced Character Creator
– Major focus on improved build variety, parry system introduced (but not major importance), at least one new blood type (the bat form)
– Enemies now drop loot
– Buddy system improved, game balanced around using them more
– New Weapon Types
– Vastly improved visuals

yeah looked much more action focused, which i like… the world is finally leaving souls games behind for pure action. what a time to be alive

I have zero confidence for that one.
The character models don’t even fit the world. Also the first one wasn’t fun to play.
I feel like it’s going to be even worse.

I would like more souls stuff. I really enjoyed the first one. If it is Elden Ring than great. If it is a generic action game no thanks. If it is a Nioh thing I’m too trash to play it because I’m Nioh I can’t stance dance.

Good. The first one was ass, maybe this one is better. Still looks generic asf.

Code Vein was Dark Souls for people who aren’t really interested in Dark Souls and more interested in creating anime characters. The game was an absolute slog to play and I don’t think this is an opinion. It was a fundamentally broken experience mechanically.
Another game in the pile of people trying to copy the Souls-like formula without actually understanding why it’s appealing to players.

I loved code vein because of the aesthetic and solid gameplay more than the story so I’m fine with them going in another direction. The series can be defined by gameplay and style even if everything else is diverse between entries.

Part 1 was such a generic slog though.
