    whats all this with apple and windows vista?

    Windows Vista and 7 have transparency and blur. They don’t try to mimic how glass objects would refract light.

    I never thought Aero would be added to the long list of features that everyone else had years ago and Apple copies and claims is “new.”

    As someone who grew up in the era of Frutiger Aero, I actually really like Liquid Glass. It feels like I’m finally getting the future that was promised to me in those “[leaked Xbox 720](https://youtu.be/PBmbQCepi0Q)” videos back in 2008.

    Actually there was the Aqua interface in MacOS X, tears before Vista, using the glass metaphor liberally. So, in a way, Apple has gone full circle and are self-plagiarizing.

    Yeah, but back in the day my Quadro drivers on my laptop could make any application window transparent and always on top. Where did that functionality go?

    Oversimplified black logo design and frutiger aero design are the waves in Apples UI that come back every now and then. Just like skinny fit era and baggy pants relaxed era. İt’s a vicious cycle

    I love the new Apple UI. Sure it has some issues but it’s finally something new and cool and inspired by the frutiger aero
