Yeah, I’m sure the guy who’s the CEO of the Company had no knowledge of the game’s price.

Of all the ways he could have handled this, going with “I don’t know what’s going on at my own company” is… certainly a choice he made.

  3. Enigma0WL

Ah yes, the classic “I was the director, but somehow also the last to know” defense.

  4. R/gaming desperate to cope that 80 dollar games won’t become the new normal.

It’s not unheard of.some other f2ps have cosmetics just as expensive like poe….But to not know about what’s going on in the game you’re working on is inexcusable imo. I feel like they know what was going on but just playing dumb about it. But who knows. Sometimes these things don’t get checked/ talked about properly like bungie and the copyright thing.

and who hired the former COD guy? This dude really did more than steal trump’s hat, he stole his personality too.

  7. kingOofgames

No wonder he was wearing that hat. Same level of shithead.

  8. He can’t even take responsibility for his shitty mtx lol

  9. marniconuke

A maga guy feigning ignorance and then blaming someone else, how unsurprising.

“I have no idea what the fuck the people I hired are doing” seems almost as bad a self-own as if he’d just fully endorsed the highway robbery.

Incredible, he managed to blame call of duty again. All he had to do was apologize and say they reduced the price. This is like a parody at this point.

  12. Splitgate 1 was kind of doodoo and a flop, I fail to see how people got excited for the second one.

  13. PostNutRagrets

I’ve had fun with Splitgate 2 and havent spent a dime..

I’ve seen some really bad attempts to roll back shitty corporate decisions in my day. But, man, this one is special.

When I first read the headline I was going to give him the benefit of the doubt. As the game director, maybe the more business-y side of the company had pushed through this monetization in a low-key way knowing he’d want to argue over it — but this director is also the CEO! There’s absolutely no way he didn’t know what this game’s monetization would be.

  16. TheBoosThree

What’s this guy’s deal and why does it seem like he references Call of Duty in literally everything he says?

  17. WeirdSysAdmin

That totally makes me want to buy the game that the team is so unaligned that the game director didn’t even know the monetization scheme.

  18. Pavillian

So they hired a monetization head from call of duty and also talked about how they wanted to be the opposite of call of duty

  19. CEOs are always so quick to say “I had no idea.” Your vision is allegedly the thing driving the company. If you can’t be bothered to know the price of your own game, I have zero faith in that vision.

Whats with companies lately tanking their own games? Marathon and now Splitgate…smh

Ingorance is not an acceptable answer when you are the head of a game or company.
