as much as I enjoyed vista on higher end hardware, it was ahead of its time in concept.
the new glass with ios/ipados looks much better and higher quality. And tbh microsoft had every opportunity to bring it back in windows 11, and choose not to.

Not just Vista. I haven’t used a computer system in the last 10 years that *didn’t* have a transparent frosty glass-like option, Windows or Linux DEs. Mac’s is going to be worse than any of those examples tho, because it basically won’t even be optional. Apple will decide for you what things will look like, and they will demand you praise them for their “Innovation”, as is their way.

To be honest this is a little pedantic. It isn’t the exact same, but I am not an apple hype man … and that crap certainly isn’t really anything exciting like apple makes it out to be.
Windows Vista doesn’t look that good with the frosted glass effect as the new apple “Glass” effect they have… But that said it isn’t really something they need to high light.
Also If we really want to be serious about this apple introduced their old Mac OS X Jell effect as the inspiration for the glass effect as their evolution of that jell concept in their key note… so technically they are basing it on a tech that windows Vista was trying to emulate.
Again not an apple fan boy, but a person who loves tech and you can’t go making silly claims without knowing the history of the stuff…
Its like apple would have you think they invented the mouse user interface, MS would have you think they invented the mouse User interface… But it was actually Xerox though they didn’t invent the first, “Mouse” or the concept of mouse based UI… They were the first with an actual Mouse based UI. Something that did more than show a pointer on a screen that is.
EDIT: for context to my little side not closer the first mouse was introduced in 1968 and the first User interface was basically A Dos/Unix like OS with a cursor input and text file editing.
