Assuming this could work, I wonder what the added latency would be. And what the real world effects are.

Looks like someone messed up the pin layout when designing the pcb and now manually tried to save it. Thats some hard work.

I’m sorry to say, but it looks like it’s wired completely wrong, see left corner is attached to left corner “socket”, yup, imagine now placing that procesor as it should be, facing pins to socket. Connection is completely mirrored.
Other than that, … Lol

That looks like my first Xbox mod chip I installed. I believe it was 29 wires. Was so surprised when it worked.

if the copper wire isn’t insulated it can short.
the extra length will definitely cause issues because wires and soldering points also have resistances.
also the lack of cooling can make this overheat.

This looks like the Chernobyl reactor after it blew up.

its like one time i go to dude to install hole effect stics to my dualsence and its taking long time for him. He goes to me and says i intstalled it but its hard to center it. I like wtf, what are you doing? he was adding resistors to stick board. Huh, i was like, you can just rotate the side or somethink like that and it will work.

assuming this worked, how would it affect the performance?

ok, hear me out. Create a 3″^3 mineral oil reservoir with a cpu socket in it. Fully sealed, potted bottom with an array of tiny shielded wires to the mobo and a tube coming off the bottom like a sump for outflow into a cooling loop finally returning to the top of the reservoir. Full CPU immersion without immersing the rest of the PC.

And it doesn’t work.

Now attach the cooling.
