San Andreas is still incredibly fun and immersive even now

I agree, however, I’m glad it didn’t last 3-4 generations of consoles like GTAV.

  2. Just remember, don’t bother spending hours securing every territory for Grove Street early on…

Fun yeah. Still has the best cheats and best sandbox experience imo in any gta game. Gta 4 was a downgrade in this aspect. V atleast brought back some of the cheats and sandbox experience but just one island city wasn’t enough. Plus no fat cheats :'(

Immersive, nah. Atleast not the vanilla game. Not enough npc variety, they wear the same clothes. Also the draw distance is too low even at max so lots of pop ins. That’s to be expected of a 2004 game however. Also as a kid, I never noticed it but the beginning 20 or so missions are just boring tutorials and are a chore to replay them. Same with some of the game story plot holes.

I’ve modded the game by following some youtube guides and the game is much better now, more enjoyable to play.

When I was younger I adored the flying cars cheat. I would look around for a rad vehicle and just cruise to the radio.

Listening to free bird at Mach II over San Andreas

  5. But they could done better in definitive edition but they failed

That game really was ahead of its time. The world still feels so alive and detailed even after all these years. There’s something about the atmosphere and freedom in San Andreas that newer games still struggle to capture. Plus you can’t beat just cruising around on a bike listening to the radio stations

  7. yeah, but some of those mission, how did I ever complete them the first time around.
