Peak viewers stats are fine, but hours watched is misleading because it just means one event had more live time and more streams.
Just checked Valorant stats and it seems like there were only two matches played in that ‘Group stage Day 1’, meanwhile in CS2 we had 16 so that doesn’t really go in favor of CS.
That means per match cs2 had around 250k hours watched, while Valorant had 1m.

Would be interesting to see the distribution per geographical zone or timezone for a more direct comparison. But the bottom line is: it is not necessarily bad for the future of CS that Valorant did not die out (as was expected when it came out) and is still going relatively strong.

Valorant as a western spectator esport peaked and has slowly begun its transition to a eastern region esport. Even the endemic Valorant streamers have been logging hours in CS recently.
